Alpha Centurion Medical is looking for a Registered Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide home-based occupational therapy for a patient with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) in Taguig City.

🏠 Position
Home-Based Occupational Therapist – GBS Case

📍 Location: Taguig City
🧑‍⚕️ Service: Home-based OT
📅 Schedule: To be discussed based on patient needs and therapist availability
💼 Employment: Per-case / part-time

🩺 Patient Case
The patient is recovering from Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) and requires occupational therapy focused on functional recovery and safe return to activities of daily living.

🎯 Main Responsibilities
Conduct initial OT assessment and functional evaluation
Develop an individualized home-based OT treatment plan
Address weakness, reduced mobility, coordination and functional limitations
Train the patient in activities of daily living (ADLs)
Provide upper-extremity and functional rehabilitation as appropriate
Recommend appropriate adaptive techniques or equipment
Educate family/caregivers regarding safe assistance and home exercises
Monitor progress and document treatment outcomes
Coordinate with the patient's RT/PT and other healthcare providers as needed

✅ Qualifications
Licensed Registered Occupational Therapist (R/OT)
Preferably with experience handling neurological or rehabilitation cases
Experience with GBS, stroke, spinal cord injury, or other neuromuscular conditions is an advantage
Comfortable providing therapy in a patient's home
Good communication and documentation skills
Reliable, compassionate and professional

💰 Compensation
Professional fee: To be discussed, depending on frequency of visits, experience and case requirements.

🚨 AIRWAY MANAGEMENT TIP: WHAT TO DO IF THE TRACHEOSTOMY INNER CANNULA GETS STUCK?

A stuck inner cannula can be frightening, but DO NOT FORCE IT OUT. Excessive pulling or force may cause trauma, bleeding, or damage to the tracheostomy.

✅ If the patient is stable:
• Stay calm and monitor the patient closely.
* Check for signs of breathing difficulty or airway obstruction.
* You may make a few gentle attempts according to the tracheostomy device's instructions.
* Do not use excessive force or improvised instruments.
* If it still cannot be removed, let a trained healthcare professional assess and manage it.

🚨 GO TO THE HOSPITAL / SEEK EMERGENCY HELP if the patient develops: • Increasing breathlessness
* Oxygen desaturation
* Significant respiratory distress
* Cyanosis or change in consciousness
* Severe coughing or inability to ventilate
* Any rapidly worsening condition

🏠 If the patient remains stable but you are unable to remove the inner cannula, you can contact Alpha Centurion Medical for assistance at home.
