The Provincial Health Office Samar is preparing for the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR SIA) and Vitamin A supplementation campaign scheduled in August 2026.

Provincial NIP Coordinator, Ms. Febbie Dabuet, emphasized coordinated efforts among health workers and partner stakeholders to ensure wide coverage across Samar. She also encouraged parents and guardians to have their eligible children vaccinated and given Vitamin A supplementation, highlighting its role in preventing vaccine-preventable diseases and supporting child health.

The Provincial Health Office reaffirmed its commitment to strengthen immunization services and improve child health outcomes in the province.

Ang pagbabakuna ay makakatulong upang maiwasan ang pagka-ospital o pagkamatay na dulot ng vaccine-preventable diseases o mga sakit na maaaring maiwasan sa tulong ng bakuna.

Kumpletuhin ang bakuna ni baby👶 ayon sa schedule upang maprotektahan siya sa sakit at makaiwas sa dagdag gastos. 💸

Empowering the youth through health and awareness! 🌱💙

The Provincial Health Office (PHO), under the leadership of Ms. Madeleine H. Ampatin, actively participated in the TrukAbataan Health and Wellness Campaign conducted by the SK Officials of Brgy. Maulong in partnership with the Catbalogan City Health Office. The activity gathered young people in the community to promote awareness on adolescent health, responsible decision-making, and overall wellness.

Held on March 14, 2026, the campaign was also joined and supported by partners from UNICEF, and PSRP, with meaningful discussions and interactive sessions facilitated by dedicated Peer Educators, encouraging youth participation and engagement.

Through this collaborative initiative, stakeholders strengthened their commitment to empower adolescents with the knowledge, skills, and support systems needed to lead healthy, informed, and responsible lives. ✨

The PHO team met yesterday with Mr. Shernan Jaboli for the Phase 2 discussion of the KOICA Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) Project in Eastern Visayas. World Vision serves as the principal implementing agency, working closely with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Provincial Health Office Samar.

The discussion focused on strengthening maternal and child health services by enhancing facility capacity, sustaining the training of healthcare workers, and improving health outcomes for mothers and children across the province.

This continued partnership ensures alignment with government health priorities and promotes coordinated, efficient implementation of interventions at both community and health facility levels.
