ALAM MO BA KUNG ANO ANG ERIG?
‎
‎Ang ERIG (Equine Rabies Immunoglobulin) ay isang gamot na galing sa kabayo. Nagbibigay ito ng agarang proteksyon laban sa rabies virus habang nagsisimulang bumuo ng sariling proteksyon ang katawan mula sa anti-rabies vaccine.
‎
‎💉 Paano ginagamit ang ERIG?
‎
‎Karaniwang ini-infiltrate (ini-inject) sa loob at paligid ng sugat upang makapagbigay agad ng antibodies sa lugar ng exposure. Ginagamit ito kapag indicated, batay sa assessment ng healthcare professional.
‎
‎💉 Sino ang maaaring mangailangan ng ERIG?
‎
‎Ang ERIG ay karaniwang isinasaalang-alang para sa mga Category III exposure, depende sa assessment ng Animal Bite Treatment Center:
‎
-‎Nakagat o nakalmot nang malalim at kusang nagdugo.
‎
‎-May kagat o kalmot sa ulo, mukha, leeg, kamay, paa, o ari, lalo na kung malalim o mataas ang risk.
‎
‎-May laway ng hayop na napunta sa bukas na sugat o mucous membranes gaya ng mata, ilong, o bibig.
‎
‎-Multiple o malalalim na kagat/kalmot.
‎
‎-Exposure mula sa stray o gala na hayop, lalo na kung hindi maobserbahan o hindi matukoy ang health/vaccination status nito.
‎
‎-‎Mga pasyenteng immunocompromised, maaaring mangailangan ng espesyal na assessment at management.
‎
‎⚠️ Mahalagang paalala:
‎
‎Hindi lahat ng kagat o kalmot ay nangangailangan ng ERIG. Ang pangangailangan nito ay case-to-case basis at dapat matukoy ng healthcare professional batay sa uri at tindi ng exposure, hayop na sangkot, at vaccination history ng pasyente.
‎
‎💉 Kung naturukan na ako noon ng anti-rabies, kailangan ko pa ba ng ERIG?
‎
‎Kung kumpleto ang iyong dating rabies vaccination at may dokumentasyon nito, karaniwang hindi na ibinibigay ang ERIG. Ang tamang management ay nakadepende pa rin sa iyong vaccination history at kasalukuyang exposure.
‎
‎⚠️ Huwag mag-self-assess. Kapag nakagat o nakalmot, magpakonsulta agad sa Animal Bite Treatment Center para sa tamang Category at treatment.

🛡️ HIGH-RISK AREAS FOR CATEGORY III RABIES EXPOSURE 🐶🐱

Not all animal bites and scratches are the same. Bites or scratches on the head, face, eyes, nose, mouth, neck, hands, and fingers are considered HIGH RISK because these areas have many nerve endings, allowing the rabies virus to reach the brain more quickly.

⚠️ Category III Exposure requires IMMEDIATE medical attention. Do not wait for symptoms to appear—rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms develop, but it is 100% preventable with prompt treatment.

As a DOH-Accredited Animal Bite Treatment Center (ABTC), we are committed to providing safe, quality, and evidence-based rabies prevention and treatment for our community.
