On November 14, 2025, the RED Medical Foundation reached one of the communities in Talisay City most devastated by the recent typhoon—a place where many families lost not only their homes, but their sense of safety and normalcy.

Alongside the local barangay health workers, we conducted a medical mission that offered consultations, vital signs monitoring, essential medications, and relief packages. The need for immediate medical care was clear, and we were honored to be able to respond.

Moments like these remind us why the RED Medical Foundation exists: to bring compassion, humanity, and hope to communities in their most vulnerable moments.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated volunteers—residents, fellows, and consultants from the CHH Department of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics — who gave their time, energy, and hearts to make this mission possible.

May the days ahead bring healing, comfort, and renewed strength to every family rebuilding their lives.

Even in the hardest times, hope endures—and we are grateful to have been part of it.

“A holistic approach to COPD management does not stop at pharmacologic treatment. Close follow up, together with management of comorbidities, additional treatment for severe disease, pulmonary rehabilitation, and patient education, is crucial. ”

“Feedback wasn’t a grade. It wasn’t a score, or a red mark, or a comment at the bottom of a paper. Feedback is conversation. It is presence. It is care.

And so, the third element of the LIFER strategy is Feedback as Dialogue—because teaching is not a one-way street. Feedback, when done right, is a loop. ”

-Dr. Neil Christian Baring

“We have to collaborate and ask them how they would want to be taught. Our learners are here to learn, therefore it is our duty and responsibility to give them and design an environment and the tools that they need
and not just teach the way you teach”

Dr. Ellie Villegas, Fr. Florge Sy, Atty. Marc Phua:

"The decision to shift from active treatment to supportive care should be patient-centered, transparent, and compliant with legal standards

Clinical parameters such as biological and functional age, performance status, stage and type of malignancy, prognosis, response to treatment guide management decision-making.

Documentation, respect for patient autonomy, and adherence to applicable laws and institutional policies are critical to ethically sound and legally protected decision-making."
