How is a ZBB patient's bill settled? 💰

Charges are settled in this order:
1️⃣ PhilHealth case rates (for compensable illnesses)
2️⃣ Medical Assistance for Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients (MAIFIP)
3️⃣ Cancer Assistance Fund (for cancer cases)
4️⃣ Remaining balance through other government fund sources (via Malasakit Center)

President Marcos announced Zero Balance Billing (ZBB) during his July 28, 2025 SONA — ensuring that patients at DOH hospitals leave with zero out-of-pocket charges for covered services. 🇵🇭

ZBB is now in effect at VSMMC and other DOH-retained hospitals in Central Visayas. 💙
