Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center proudly celebrates a remarkable achievement as its Acute Stroke Code Team is recognized as a CENTER OF EXCELLENCE IN STROKE CARE by the World Stroke Organization (WSO) Angels Initiative, with ANGEL DIAMOND STATUS for all four quarters of 2025, followed by Diamond Awards for the 1st and 2nd Quarters of 2026.

This achievement is made possible through the invaluable contributions spearheaded by Dr. Maritzie R. Eribal, Head, Brain and Spine Subspecialty Center, Dr. Ma. Teresa A. Cañete, Head, Acute Stroke Code Team, our Adult Neurology Consultants, Residents-in-Charge for Acute Stroke Code, Internal Medicine Residents, Nursing Service Division, and all supporting divisions and personnel whose collective expertise, dedication, and coordination ensure the timely delivery of quality stroke care.
