Today, our Barangay Mental Health Focal Persons received their advocacy kits as support for their important role in promoting mental health in the community. Each kit includes a tote bag, notebook, tumbler, and ballpen-simple but useful tools for their home visits and community work.

The focal persons were also oriented on the new reporting forms, designed to improve documentation, organize mental health data, and strengthen our community-based mental health services.

Together, we build a community that nurtures Mental Health.💚

LOOK!

The City Government of Vigan together with the Ilocos Sur Medical Society brought the Prison Break Project to our Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) in Vigan City Jail on September 24, 2026. This is in celebration of the 69th medicine week of the Philippine Medical Association.

The PDLs were provided with skin clinic services, medical and dental check-ups, along with meaningful lectures on skin care and mental health.

One of the highlights was the Mindful Movement (Yoga) led by Ms. Joanna Cara Medina, followed by an Art Therapy session facilitated by Alliah Nicole T. Sayo and the City Health Office staff.

Through art, reflection, and sharing, the PDLs were given the opportunity to speak about their dreams, hopes, and the future they still believe in. The activity ended with a quiet and meaningful meditation.

Each PDL also received a Self-Care Kit and the Cell-F Reflection Workbook, developed by Ms. Sayo and her team, to continue their journey of reflection and self-care beyond the activity.

Indeed, Healing knows no walls and Hope knows no boundaries.

Strengthening Hypertension Care through PPSA 💚

The World Health Organization (WHO), in collaboration with the Provincial Health Office, conducted a monitoring activity for the “Proteksyon para sa Alta Presyon” (PPSA) initiative at the Primary Care Facility of Vigan City.

The activity showcased the facility’s initiatives, activities, and best practices in hypertension prevention, screening, management, and control, highlighting our continued commitment to strengthening NCD services and improving quality primary healthcare in the community. 🩺💚

On September 24, 2026, the Provincial Health Office conducted the reassessment of our Animal Bite Treatment Center (ABTC) at the Vigan City Primary Health Care Facility to assess continued compliance with established standards, quality of care, facility readiness, and patient safety.

We are pleased to share that the facility met 100% of the required standards for ABTC certification.

This achievement reflects our continued commitment to maintaining quality, safe, and effective animal bite management services and to continuously strengthening our healthcare delivery.
