PCOS has a new name.

𝗣𝗖𝗢𝗦 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲.

PCOS has officially been renamed to PMOS — Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome — following an international consensus published in The Lancet.

The change was made because the term “polycystic o***y syndrome” was considered misleading. Many patients diagnosed with PCOS do not actually have ovarian cysts, while the condition itself involves broader endocrine and metabolic abnormalities beyond the ovaries.

PMOS aims to better reflect the full spectrum of the disease, which has been associated with insulin resistance, irregular menstruation, hyperandrogenism, infertility, obesity, dyslipidemia, and increased cardiovascular and diabetes risk.

Current diagnostic approaches and treatment principles remain largely unchanged for now, and the term PCOS will likely continue to be widely used during the transition period.

Kapag kulang sa tulog, nagugulo ang hunger hormones ng katawan, kaya mas malakas cravings, mas impulsive kumain, at mas hirap mabusog kahit kakakain mo lang.

So minsan, hindi lang food ang issue. Pwedeng sleep and routine din.

Ito yung madalas hindi napapansin ng karamihan 👀
Puyat → cravings → overeating → guilt → repeat.

That’s why in my program, hindi lang “diet” ang focus. We work on the full picture—sleep, stress, eating habits, at sustainable routine na kaya mong panindigan kahit busy ka.

Most people stay stuck because they think kulang sila sa discipline… when in reality, may cycle lang pala na kailangang i-break.
