𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬: : Classes from 2:30 pm onwards are suspended today, August 28, the Office of the Vice Chancellor announced. This follows Memorandum Circular No. 132, which suspends all classes in selected provinces in the country, including Cavite, due to the inclement weather brought by the southwest monsoon.

However, clinical clerkships and student internships will proceed as scheduled.

Sa araw na ito, ginugunita natin ang ika-43 anibersaryo ng pagpanaw ni Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., isang bayaning inalay ang buhay para sa demokrasya ng minamahal niyang Pilipinas. Sa mahabang panahon, tayo’y hinubog ng kolonyalismo, dahas, at panlilinlang sa kulturang nagtuturo sa atin na maging matatag—ang kakayahang magtiis, bumangon, at magpatuloy sa kabila ng hirap ng buhay. Ngunit ngayong araw, ating tatandaan: ang tatag ng loob ay hindi lamang tungkol sa pagtitiis. Ito rin ay ang kakayahang magmahal nang buo para sa pamilya at kapwa; ang tapang na tumindig laban sa mali, ang malasakit na kumilos para sa iba, at ang paniniwalang kaya nating maging instrumento ng pagbabago para sa ating bayan.

Kay Ninoy, nakita nating ang pagmamahal ay maaaring maging tunay na nakamamatay sa harap ng dahas na naglalayong patahimikin ang boses ng demokrasya. Ngunit sa kanyang buhay, napatunayan din nating ang magmahal ay matimbang, radikal, at makapangyarihan. Ang kanyang sakripisyo ay paalala na ang tunay na katatagan ay hindi lamang nasusukat sa kung gaano tayo katagal kayang magtiis, kundi sa kung gaano tayo katapang magmahal, tumindig, at kumilos para sa kapwa at bayan.

Kaya’t lagi nating pakatatandaan: NASA MASANG NAGMAMAHAL ANG PAG-ASA NG BAYAN!
