🧠 Your body knew cannabinoids long before you discovered the cannabis plant.
One of the most fascinating facts in medicine is that humans produce their own cannabinoids.
These molecules—known as endocannabinoids—are part of an intricate biological network called the endocannabinoid system (ECS), a regulatory system that helps maintain homeostasis throughout the body.
Rather than acting as a simple “on/off switch,” the ECS continuously fine-tunes communication between cells, helping regulate sleep, pain perception, mood, appetite, memory, immune function, and inflammation.
Cannabinoids from the cannabis plant don’t create this system.
They interact with one that has existed within us all along.
Understanding cannabis medicine begins with understanding the remarkable biology that already exists inside every patient. 🌿
