PEMAT is the countryโ€™s deployable emergency medical team composed of trained healthcare and support professionals who can provide coordinated medical and humanitarian assistance during disasters, public health emergencies, and other crisis situations. While emergency response is often associated with doctors, nurses, and emergency personnel, nutritionist-dietitians, also play a vital role in ensuring the health, recovery, and well-being of both patients and responders. Proper nutrition is essential in emergency settings, supporting recovery, preventing malnutrition, managing therapeutic diets, ensuring food safety, and overseeing food service operations in field hospitals and evacuation centers.

This achievement reflects the growing recognition of the crucial role of nutrition in humanitarian response and disaster preparedness. Through specialized training and multidisciplinary collaboration, Nutritionist-Dietitians contribute significantly to building resilient and effective emergency response teams.
