In a strong display of unity and commitment to public health, Governor Jose V. Gambito joined the Blood Donation Activity and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing held in the Municipality of Diadi in partnership with the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital(Laboratory and Bloodbank Department)under the “Dara ti Umili” Program. The activity highlighted the province’s continuing advocacy in promoting voluntary blood donation and strengthening collaboration among local government units and partner agencies in saving lives through community participation.

The event gathered a total of 74 successful blood donors coming from the different barangays of the municipality, various partner agencies, and employees of the Local Government Unit of Diadi. Their willingness to donate blood reflected the bayanihan spirit and compassion of the community toward individuals in need of immediate blood assistance and medical support.

The MOA signing also symbolized the strengthened partnership between the provincial government, municipal government, and participating institutions in sustaining blood donation initiatives and ensuring the availability of safe blood supply within the province. Through the collective efforts of community volunteers, healthcare workers, and government employees, the activity became a meaningful expression of service, solidarity, and concern for public welfare.

The Municipality of Diadi with the Leadership of the Municipal Mayor Hon. Sandy M. Gayaton extends its gratitude to all donors, volunteers, partner agencies, and organizers who contributed to the success of the activity, proving that a single act of donation can help save many lives.

Inviting donors for the upcoming Blood donation activity on May 14,2026 at the senior citizens hall.

Key Preparations
Hydration: Drink an extra 16 oz of water or non-alcoholic fluids before the donation.
Diet: Eat iron-rich foods (beans, spinach, meat, fish) and avoid fatty foods like burgers or fries, which can affect blood tests.
Rest: Ensure you get a good night's sleep before your appointment.
Clothing: Wear short sleeves or sleeves that can be rolled up comfortably above the elbow.
Medications: Inform staff if you are taking antibiotics or other medications; generally, you should finish antibiotics before donating.

What to Avoid
Fatty foods: High-fat meals can affect blood testing.
Alcohol/Caffeine: Avoid for 24 hours prior to donation, as they can cause dehydration.
Smoking: Avoid smoking for at least two hours before your donation.
Donating sick: Do not donate if you have a fever, cold, or are taking antibiotics for an infection.

Tips for Success
Eat something light: Do not donate on an empty stomach.
Keep warm: Drink water and consider staying warm to make your veins easier to find.
Relax: Use the time to listen to music or read.

Our HIV & AIDS Awareness Seminar and Candle Lighting Ceremony was successfully conducted with our Municipal Health Officer Dr. Maria Cristina L. Munar as the keynote speaker, supported by the Municipal Administrator Ma’am Zenaida G. Malvar representing the Municipal Mayor. Together with our dedicated Health Staff with Mr. Randy F. Valdez the HIV Coordinator and the vibrant LGBTQ+ community of Diadi, we came together to promote awareness, compassion, and unity. The LGBTQ+ members also elected their new set of officers, marking a step forward for representation and empowerment. Together, we continue to build a healthier and more inclusive Diadi.
