In a continued effort to raise awareness and promote early detection of kidney disease, the Philippine Society of Nephrology Digos City Cluster, in collaboration with the City Health Office and the City Government of Digos, conducted a Glomerular Disease Screening and Bloodletting activity.
This meaningful initiative focused on young adults under 25 years old—those who may unknowingly be at risk for glomerular disease. At the same time, it welcomed individuals of all ages, especially those with existing comorbidities, recognizing that kidney health is a concern for every stage of life.

Participants were given free kidney screening tests, including urinalysis and serum creatinine determination, as a step toward early diagnosis and prevention.

Alongside this, a bloodletting drive was held for generous volunteers, with all donations intended to help kidney disease patients in need of blood transfusions.

This activity is a testament to the power of collaboration and compassion—bringing together healthcare workers, local leaders, and the community to stand united for kidney health. 💗🩺🩸

The Digos City Health Office and Davao Blood Center conducted their regular blood donation drive today at the Digos City Gymnasium.

Nephrologists of the PSN Mindanao Chapter, along with the staff from the Hemodialysis Units of Davao del Sur, actively participated in the event. Some of the blood products collected will be reserved for the needs of our dialysis patients.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the City Government of Digos, under the leadership of Mayor Josef Fortich Cagas, for his unwavering support in strengthening the blood supply for our CKD patients. Your leadership and dedication are making a significant difference in the lives of many. Together, we are fostering a healthier future for our community!

Davao del Sur celebrates National Kidney Month with the City Government of Digos City. We would like to express our profound gratitude to our local leaders Mayor Josef Fortich Cagas, Vice Mayor Johari Bana and City Councilors for their overwhelming support. The event featured insightful lectures on kidney disease prevention and organ donation, along with health screenings for government employees.

This activity was done in collaboration with Digos City Health Office, Renal Dialysis Unit Staff and Digos City Nephrologists.
