To bring the day to a meaningful close, the SK Officials took part in a series of lighthearted yet reflective “kamustahan” activities designed to foster connection, self-awareness, and personal growth.
The energy in the room immediately came alive during the Human Bingo activity, which had everyone on their feet, exchanging stories and discovering unexpected commonalities. Filled with laughter and friendly competition, the activity was ultimately won by Team Ilajas.
The atmosphere then shifted into one of deeper reflection through the Body Map activity. Here, participants explored the different aspects of their identities, strengths, values, and leadership styles by creatively illustrating who they are beyond their titles and responsibilities. Meaningful conversations followed during breakout group sharing sessions facilitated by Mr. James Mariano of MindShift Initiative; Dr. Marjoe Renz Dominic P. Deita, Doctor to the Barrios and OIC Municipal Health Officer; and Ms. Ruby Anne Laguna, MHPSS-trained Nurse II from DOH.
The final activity, “Letter to My Present and Future Self,” invited participants to pause and look inward. Through heartfelt letters, the young leaders reflected on their current journeys, acknowledged their challenges and victories, and penned messages of hope, encouragement, and gratitude for the person they aspire to become.
A synthesis of the day’s learnings and participant feedback was then shared by Ms. Decebell Patriarca, SK Chairperson of Matangharon, who highlighted the importance of creating spaces where young leaders can openly connect, reflect, and support one another.
As the program drew to a close, Dr. Marjoe Renz Dominic P. Deita delivered the final reminders and words of encouragement. More than a closing message, it was an invitation for every participant to continue practicing kindness toward themselves, embracing positive self-talk, and prioritizing their own well-being as they continue serving their communities.
The day ended not only with new knowledge and skills, but with renewed connections, meaningful reflections, and a reminder that even leaders need moments to pause, check in, and simply ask one another: “Kamusta ka?”
