This Hypertension Awareness Month, the National Nutrition Council (NNC) encourages the public to know their numbers and adopt healthier eating and lifestyle habits to help maintain normal blood pressure and support overall heart health.

High blood pressure often has no symptoms, but it can lead to serious health problems such as heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure if left unmanaged.

Following the Pinggang Pinoy food guide can help individuals achieve balanced meals by consuming Go, Grow, and Glow foods in appropriate portions. Reducing salt intake, eating more fruits and vegetables, drinking enough water, staying physically active, managing stress, and getting enough sleep are likewise important in promoting a healthier lifestyle.

The public is also advised to limit the consumption of high-sodium foods such as instant noodles, chips, canned goods, processed meats, and salty sauces, as excessive sodium intake may contribute to elevated blood pressure.

Regular blood pressure monitoring and making informed nutrition choices are important steps toward preventing hypertension and its complications.

By making healthy food and lifestyle choices every day, we can all contribute to building healthier hearts and healthier communities.

According to PAGASAโ€™s Seasonal Climate Outlook, near to above-normal rainfall is expected in many regions, including ILOILO PROVINCE. This increases the risk of flooding, stagnant water, and mosquito breeding โ€” raising the threat of dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Letโ€™s work together to protect our families and communities!
Mag-4S Kontra Dengue!
1๏ธโƒฃ Search and Destroy mosquito breeding sites
2๏ธโƒฃ Seek Early Consultation for fever, body pain, nausea, or rashes
3๏ธโƒฃ Secure Self-Protection with repellents & protective clothing
4๏ธโƒฃ Support Spraying/Misting in hotspot areas

Strengthen Health Response:
โœ”๏ธ Activate Dengue Fast Lanes in health facilities
โœ”๏ธ Implement the 1-3-7 Strategy in hotspot areas
โœ”๏ธ Preposition medicines, diagnostic kits, and vector control supplies
โœ”๏ธ Mobilize Barangay Dengue Task Force

๐Ÿ•“ LIMPYO ILOILO KADA LUNES NA LIHOK KONTRA LAMOK

Every clean container, every covered drum, every destroyed breeding site is a victory against dengue. Prevention is not seasonal, it must be a daily habit.

๐Ÿ“Œ This is a call for unity and vigilance. Together, we can sustain the decline of dengue cases and prevent outbreaks of mosquito-borne diseases in Iloilo Province!
