Protect Your Vision, Preserve Your Future
Every year, we observe **Sight Saving Month** to remind everyone about the importance of taking care of our eyes and protecting our precious gift of sight.
Our eyes help us see the people we love, learn new things, work, travel, and enjoy the beauty of the world. Because vision is very important in our daily lives, we should not wait until we experience serious eye problems before seeking eye care.
Why Is Eye Care Important?
Some eye conditions may develop slowly and may not show symptoms at the beginning. Regular eye examinations can help detect vision problems and certain eye conditions early.
Early detection and timely treatment are important ways to help protect your eyesight.
How Can We Take Care of Our Eyes?
1. Have Regular Eye Examinations👩⚕️👨⚕️
Visit your Optometrist for a comprehensive eye examination.
2. Eat Healthy Foods
Eat nutritious foods, including green leafy vegetables and fruits, to support overall eye health.
3. Give Your Eyes a Break 💻📱
Avoid spending too much time continuously using gadgets. Follow the **20-20-20 rule**: every 20 minutes, look at something far away for about 20 seconds.
4. Protect Your Eyes from Injury and Sunlight
Use appropriate protective eyewear when necessary.
5. Get Enough Sleep and Rest 😴
Rest is important for your overall health and can help reduce eye fatigue.
6. Encourage Children to Have Their Eyes Checked
Children may not always recognize or report vision problems. Early eye care is important for their learning and daily activities.
