UNLEASH: LoveYourself Capacity Building

Building stronger communities starts with strengthening the people who serve them. Spearheaded by LoveYourself and Luxecare, this year’s Capacity Building brought together our team, volunteers, and community partners for two days of learning, knowledge-sharing, and meaningful conversations. Organized by Hero by LoveYourself, the conference created a space for collaboration, reflection, and shared learning.

Through plenaries and breakout sessions, we explored HIV and STI prevention and management, mental health, and the role of community-based organizations in advancing public health in the Philippines. We also celebrated the people behind the work who continue to bring our advocacy, research, and campaigns to communities and beyond.

Together, we UNLEASHED our knowledge, passion, and potential to create healthier and more inclusive communities.

Ngayong 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵, hindi lang natin cine-celebrate ang diversity. Pinapaalala rin nito na 𝗹𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝘁𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗼, 𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗸𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘆-𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘆—regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, o gender expression.

Kaya ngayong darating na 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, inaanyayahan namin kayong makiisa sa 𝗝𝗨𝗔𝗡 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝗹, 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗝𝗨𝗔𝗡𝗔: 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘𝗧𝗬 𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗬.

The success of the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗜𝗗𝗦 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 became possible through the collective efforts, support, and solidarity of our 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀, and the unwavering support of the 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆.

Taos-puso po kaming nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng aming 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 na nakiisa at sumuporta sa pagsusulong ng 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, at 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 para sa HIV and AIDS advocacy. Ang inyong 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 at 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 ay malaking bahagi sa pagpapatibay ng ating layunin na makabuo ng 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱, 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲, at 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗺𝗮-𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀.

Para naman sa aming passionate 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀, maraming salamat sa inyong 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆, at mahalagang serbisyo throughout the event. Ang inyong willingness to 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱, 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁, at maglingkod sa komunidad ay patunay ng kapangyarihan ng kabataan sa paglikha ng 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲.

Lubos din po naming pinapasalamatan ang 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 sa kanilang suporta at sa pagtulong upang maisakatuparan ang event na ito. Ang kanilang commitment sa 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, at 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵-𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 ay patuloy na nagbibigay ng positibong epekto sa komunidad.

As we continue to advocate for education, equality, prevention, and accessible healthcare, may we never forget that behind every statistic is a human life deserving of dignity, respect, and support.

As we gather for this year’s International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, we unite our hearts in remembrance of the lives lost to AIDS-related illnesses and in solidarity with the millions of people around the world who continue to live with HIV. This memorial is more than a ceremony of candles and silence — it is a movement of compassion, awareness, courage, and hope.

Every candle lit symbolizes a story remembered, a life honored, and a commitment to continue the fight against stigma, discrimination, and misinformation. We remember the advocates, healthcare workers, volunteers, friends, families, and community members whose love and efforts continue to inspire change and save lives.

Today, we are reminded that the battle against HIV and AIDS is not yet over. There is still a need to educate communities, promote safe spaces, strengthen access to healthcare, and empower people through awareness and acceptance. Through unity and action, we can continue building a future where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and equality regardless of status, gender identity, or background.

Let this memorial serve as a call to continue the legacy of compassion and advocacy — to speak louder against stigma, to stand firmer for human rights, and to become lights of hope for those who feel unseen and unheard. Together, we honor the past, act in the present, and inspire a brighter future for the next generation. ✨
