Even if you cut down table sugar, you might still be consuming it through other foods and drinks!
Free Sugars include sugars added to food and beverages, as well as sugars naturally present in honey, syrups, fruit juices and fruit juice concentrates.
Excessive intake of sugars can lead to unhealthy weight gain, tooth decay, and increases the risk of obesity and related noncommunicable diseases.
It’s important to limit free sugars to less than 50g per day, or about 12 teaspoons.
Reducing intake to less than 25 g (6 teaspoons) per day may provide additional health benefits.
