Ang deworming o pagpurga usa ka luwas, epektibo, ug kasaligan nga pamaagi sa pagpanalipod sa mga bata batok sa mga bitok sa tina-i. Kon dili matambalan, ang impeksyon sa bitok mahimong hinungdan sa kakulang sa nutrisyon, nalangan nga pagtubo, ug pagkunhod sa abilidad sa bata sa pagkat-on ug pag-angkon og kahibalo.
Ang Albendazole usa ka luwas ug epektibo nga tambal nga dugay nang gigamit sa mga programa sa panglawas alang sa pagpurga sa mga bata nga nag edad Usa (1) ka tuig ngadto sa disi-nwebe (19) ka tuig. Adunay pipila ka mga bata nga mahimong makasinati og gagmay ug temporaryong side effects sama sa pagsakit sa tiyan, pagsuka, hilanat, pagkalibang, ug rashes sa panit. Kasagaran, kini dili seryoso o temporary lamang ug mawala ra pinaagi sa hustong pag-atiman.

The City Government of Iligan, under the leadership of Mayor Frederick W. Siao, successfully conducted a Family Planning Mobile Outreach, reaffirming its commitment to delivering accessible, equitable, and quality family planning services to communities through an integrated approach to health and social services.

This collaborative initiative was made possible through the strong partnership of the City Leadership Team, composed of the City Health Office (CHO), City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), Gregorio T. Lluch Memorial Hospital (GTLMH), Iligan City Youth Development Office (ICYDO), Department of Health (DOH), PhilHealth, Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF), and The Challenge Initiative (TCI), with the valued support of Councilor Derrick Siao.

The outreach successfully served 52 clients, providing comprehensive family planning counseling and a wide range of quality reproductive health services designed to support informed decision-making and improve the overall well-being of Iliganon families.

A notable highlight of the activity was the active participation of male partners, with many husbands accompanying their wives throughout the counseling and service delivery process. Their involvement underscores the importance of shared responsibility in family planning, where couples work together to make informed reproductive health decisions that contribute to healthier families and more resilient communities.

Through strengthened partnerships, community-centered programs, and sustained collaboration among government agencies and development partners, the City Government of Iligan remains steadfast in advancing universal access to quality reproductive health services. These collective efforts empower individuals and couples to make informed choices while fostering healthier, stronger, and more resilient Iliganon families.

𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – The City Nutrition Committee and City Health Office of Iligan City officially kicked-off the 2026 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 through a meaningful nutrition program held during the flag-raising ceremony at the Anahaw Amphitheater, Pala-o, Iligan City. The celebration is anchored on this year's theme, “𝐒𝐚 𝐏𝐏𝐀𝐍: 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐚-𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐋𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐭", with the sub-theme, “𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐲𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧, 𝐀𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐚𝐧!"
The launch was led by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐂. 𝐀𝐥𝐛𝐚𝐨, 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐈𝐈, together with 𝐃𝐫. These include the Nutrition Challenge, Nutrition Month Celebration Forum, Seminar on Gulayan sa Paaralan (School Garden Programme), Seminar on the National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Programme, and "Sustansya sa Plato: A Veggie-Cum-Fruit Salad Culinary Challenge" for the Empowered Iligan Women's Association.
Also highlighted were the Search for the Best Lactation Room/Corner in LGU Offices, with validation and judging scheduled in August in observance of Breastfeeding Month, and the Search for the Best Go, Grow, and Glow (G4) Garden among Barangay Health Stations and Barangay Nutrition Committees, with validation and judging set for October.
The event was made even more meaningful with the full support and active leadership of 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐖. Ensuring fair pricing and accessible healthcare for all!

June 26, 2026 the DOH Center for Health Development Northern Mindanao, in collaboration with the local government of Iligan City, is conducting a Joint Suggested Retail Price (SRP) Monitoring and Feedbacking session among selected drug outlets in the city.

In line with RA 7581 (The Price Act) and RA 9502 (The Cheaper Medicines Act), this joint effort brings together stakeholders from the FDA, DTI, and the Local Price Coordinating Council to:
✅ Monitor compliance with medicine price regulations.
✅ Identify and address field implementation issues.
✅ Brainstorm collaborative solutions for better healthcare accessibility.
By keeping medicine prices in check, we protect the community and ensure essential healthcare remains within reach for every Iliganon.

This vital health initiative ensures that early detection and preventive care remain accessible to every resident.

The success of this event was made possible through the collaboration of our passionate healthcare leaders and coordinators:

Regular water surveillance is an essential component of environmental sanitation, ensuring that residents have access to safe and potable water.

These initiatives aim to promote preventive healthcare, improve community well-being, and ensure that quality health services remain accessible to every resident.
