The Department of Family and Community Medicine of West Visayas State University Medical Center successfully conducted its Acute Care Management Workshop last June 4, 2026, featuring insightful discussions and practical learning sessions led by Dr. Rachel Ann Catague and Dr. Enrique Hipolito III.

The workshop strengthened residents' knowledge and skills in the timely assessment and management of acute medical conditions, emphasizing evidence-based, patient-centered care in various clinical settings.

Still, in celebration of World Family Doctor Day, the Department of Family and Community Medicine, West Visayas State University Medical Center successfully conducted the lecture on “Maintaining Compassion in Telehealth” on June 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the WVSUMC FCM Department Office and via Zoom.

The session, led by Dr. Josel Sorongon-Jabadan, highlighted the importance of preserving empathy and patient-centered care in the evolving landscape of telehealth.
