𝗠𝗮𝗴-𝗕𝗣 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆!

8 out of 11 ASEAN countries have already banned e-cigarettes or v**es to protect public health.

In Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, authorities have expressed support for potential bans:

🇲🇾 Malaysia’s Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad: “It’s not a matter of if, but when.”
🇵🇭 Philippines’ Health Secretary: “Why will I give poison to the Filipinos and the youth?”
🇮🇩 Indonesia’s narcotics agency: calling for a full ban due to drug abuse risks

With momentum building across the region—
Is it time for Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines to follow?

Excess in early childhood reduces exposure to adult speech and conversational exchanges, which may negatively affect language development. Shared viewing and educational content can help mitigate these effects.

This JAMA Pediatrics Patient Page discusses how screen time may affect language development in children.

A cross-sectional analysis of the 2023 National Survey on Drug Use and Health indicated that nearly 1 in 10 US adults had overlapping heavy drinking and obesity, and 3.8% had both alcohol use disorder ( ) and obesity.

The prevalence of overlapping risk factors was highest among young and middle-aged adults, with notable differences by s*x, race and ethnicity, insurance coverage, and income.

These findings highlight the importance of integrated clinical and public health interventions focused on co-occurring risky alcohol use and obesity to reduce liver disease risk, with particular attention to uninsured individuals and those with Medicaid or CHIP coverage.
