The Department of HealthโCenter for Health Development (DOH-CHD) SOCCSKSARGEN Region led an orientation on Gender and Development (GAD), SOGIE, and related policies on May 12, 2026, at the FCG Hotel in Kidapawan City, to strengthen gender-responsive governance and promote safe and inclusive workplaces.
Atty. Ergel Mae E. Rosal led the discussion on legal mandates for GAD and SOGIE, alongside key Basic GAD Concepts such as Gender and Development, S*x vs. Gender, Gender Milestones, Gender Socialization, Gender and Power Relations, Gender Bias, Gender Issues, and Gender Identification. She also provided an overview of comprehensive GAD policies and emphasized the role of the Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI), including its functions, procedures, and mechanisms for handling workplace harassment cases, encouraging participants to report incidents within their respective offices.
Moreover, Herdiele T. Pancho discussed existing DOH-CHD policies and introduced the regionโs plan to pursue certification of the GAD Seal for PDOHO offices, encouraging participants to replicate and contextualize gender-responsive initiatives and the use of gender-fair language in all official documents, communications, and issuances to promote inclusive and non-discriminatory language practices in accordance with Regional Memorandum No. 0224 s. 2023
Also in attendance were Provincial DOH Office (PDOHO) and Health Human Resource (HRH) personnel from different municipalities of North Cotabato, Heideliza V. Chio โ DMO V, together with Joel E. Genzon โ DMO IV, and Josephine S. Capuyan โ DMO IV.
