Low carb doesn’t mean calorie-free. Wag ipilit.

May mga nababasa akong comments sa soc med na since low carb naman daw, ay okay lang kahit marami.

Ay, hindi po ganun. Please lang. Wag magpakalat ng misinformation.

Reducing carbs can be helpful for some people, pero calories still count.

Hindi sya free pass to eat as much as you want.

If sa tingin mo need mo mag BAWAS ng carbs - go! Pwede akong mag agree. Pero remember that at the end of the day, quality, quantity, and your overall eating pattern still matter.

PS: wala po akong binebentang supplements o gamot

Sincerely,

A concerned REGISTERED NUTRITIONIST-DIETITIAN

Today's side quest! 🏃‍♀️🥗

It was such a great honor to speak about Sports Nutrition with the students of Benguet State University - College of Human Kinetics!

Nutrition is such an important part of sports and performance, and I hope today’s session helped them appreciate how having a good foundation in nutrition can be useful as they build their careers in sports and fitness.

It was a pleasure sharing what I know with future professionals in the field. Thank you for having me! 🥰

Special thanks to ma'am Char for the invite and for these photos hehe

During my food service practicum at Mario's Baguio, I remember the smell of freshly chopped basil and parsley filling the prep station. It was such a simple thing, but somehow, that fresh, herby aroma has held a special place in my heart ever since.

Fourteen years later, whenever I chop parsley or make pesto, I'm taken back to those days—the early mornings, the busy kitchen, and the little moments that made me fall in love with food service.

Oh God, please don't let the grit in me fade away.

I can't believe we're down to our last day of the 31 DAYS OF NUTRITION!!! 😭

Trail mix is one of those foods that's easy to label as either "healthy" or "unhealthy," but the truth depends on what's in it and how much you eat.

Nuts and seeds provide healthy unsaturated fats, protein, fiber, and important vitamins and minerals. Dried fruits add fiber and natural sweetness. Together, they make a satisfying snack that can help keep hunger at bay.

However, many commercial trail mixes include candy-coated chocolates, heavily sweetened dried fruits, and large amounts of added salt, making them much higher in sugar, sodium, and calories than expected.

So what should you do?
1. Read the ingredients list.
2. Choose unsalted nuts when possible.
3. Look for dried fruits without added sugar.
4. Keep portions to about ¼ cup.

Better yet, make your own trail mix!
