These two are my non-negotiables when I'm cooking Chinese-inspired dishes. Whether I’m making stir-fried veggies, noodles, fried rice, or a quick dipping sauce.

Aside from considering that natural umami (not the synthetic taste), I always check labels when buying soy sauce too.

If you see that it is light or low in sodium, opt for that brand. Other regular soy sauce contains 2700mg per 3 tbsps (1 tbsp ~ 900mg). This brand has 1000mg per 3 tbsps - BUT it is always wise to lessen consumption by at least one-third (1 tbsp ~ 330mg).

It is always good to note that the recommended daily sodium intake for Filipino adults is less than 2,000 mg to prevent high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke. Imagine consuming how many teaspoons of soy sauce as your dipping sauce. 🙀
