The middle class is becoming the new poor.

Overtaxed. Underserved. Abused.

We are the backbone of the nation—yet we carry the heaviest burden. A defunded PhilHealth leaves families vulnerable to catastrophic illness. A broken healthcare system forces us into debt. Corruption in flood control programs leaves communities unprotected.

Now, inflation has soared to 7.2%, the fastest in three years. GDP growth is weak. Still, government refuses to suspend excise taxes on gasoline and petroleum products, or reduce regressive Value Added Tax.

Instead of long-term strategic planning, politics dominates—focused on staying in power, not serving the people. Accountability is absent.

The middle class pays the most taxes, yet receives the least support. Too rich for subsidies, too poor to withstand rising costs. This is not just economic injustice—it is moral failure.

If the middle class collapses, the nation collapses. Protecting them is not charity—it is nation-building.
