WHERE COMPASSION BEGINS: WELCOMING THE NEXT GENERATION OF HUMANITARIAN LEADERS ❤️🤍
The WVSU-LC College Red Cross Youth Council (CRCY) successfully conducted its General Orientation, welcoming our newly oriented members into the family of service, volunteerism, compassion, and humanitarian action.
This year’s orientation was truly extraordinary and more meaningful as we were honored to have the presence of our Iloilo Red Cross Youth Chapter,Chapter Youth Council (C*C), represented by C*C Vice President Internal, Jarren Lloyd Genovata, whose presence and support made this gathering even more memorable for our CRCY community. ❤️
The program formally began with the Welcome Remarks of our CRCY Adviser, Sir Mark Joe D. Elvas, who reminded our new members of the importance of commitment, service, and being ready to help others whenever and wherever needed.
Council President Merylle Joy Nacion then had the honor of introducing the WVSU-LC CRCY Officers for A.Y. 2026–2027, the student leaders who will guide and work alongside our members throughout this journey of service. 🫡❤️
A meaningful and inspiring message was delivered by C*C Vice President Internal Jarren Lloyd Genovata, who shared his own words of encouragement and guidance with our new members as they begin their journey as Red Cross Youth volunteers.
He also delivered a special message on behalf of C*C President Dir. Kimberly L. Suel, who was unable to personally attend the orientation but generously shared her message for our new members. Her words reminded everyone of the value of service, commitment, compassion, and leadership in humanitarian action. We sincerely appreciate her thoughtful message and support for the WVSU-LC CRCY community. ❤️🤍
The orientation continued with a Discussion of CRCY Activities and Opportunities, giving our members a glimpse of the projects, programs, volunteer activities, and experiences that await them throughout the year.
Of course, the program would not be complete without fun and meaningful moments! Our members actively participated in a Debate Energizer, bringing out their confidence, teamwork, and critical thinking, followed by our Unity Dance, which reminded us that despite coming from different backgrounds, we can move together with one purpose. 🫶🏻
Finally, we closed the program with the Closing Remarks of our CRCY Consultant, Ms. Lara Jane Lazaleta, whose words served as an inspiring reminder for our members to continue carrying the spirit of humanitarian service wherever they go.
Overall, the General Orientation was a meaningful and memorable gathering that brought our new members together, introduced them to the heart of CRCY, and gave them a glimpse of the journey that lies ahead. It was a day filled with learning, inspiration, connection, teamwork, and excitement for a new chapter of service. ❤️🤍
To our newly oriented CRCY members, welcome to the family! Your journey officially begins today. May this organization become a place where you learn, grow, lead, serve, and create an impact—not only as volunteers, but as young humanitarian leaders.
And to everyone who made this orientation possible—our advisers, consultants, C*C representatives, faculty and staff, Campus Administrator, officers, guests, and members—thank you for making this year’s General Orientation truly extraordinary.
