2025 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗔𝗜𝗗𝗦 𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

The Municipal Health Office - LGU Lamut, in collaboration with DepEd, PHO and the Department of Health, successfully conducted the World AIDS Day Celebration at Lawig National High School, attended by almost 300 Senior High School students.

Aligned with this year’s theme, “Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response,” the event emphasized the importance of unity, awareness, and shared responsibility in preventing HIV and supporting affected individuals.

A comprehensive discussion on HIV/AIDS was delivered, focusing on prevention, early testing, and eliminating stigma. Students were also guided on the significance of the candle-lighting ceremony, symbolizing remembrance, compassion, and hope for a future without AIDS.

Information on the upcoming Blood Letting Activity on December 12 was provided, highlighting the value of voluntary blood donation. A short yet meaningful lecture on dental health by the DOH Dentist further promoted holistic wellness among the youth.

The symposium concluded with free blood typing and HIV screening, actively participated by the students. Toothbrushes were likewise distributed as part of the health promotion campaign. Refreshments were served during the activity.

This symposium strengthened partnerships among LGU Lamut, DepEd, PHO and DOH, and empowered the youth of Lawig National High School to make informed, responsible decisions toward a healthier community.
