One hundred fifty-three thousand nine hundred milliliters (153,900ml) of blood totals yesterday’s blood collection from 342 successful blood donors!

Spearheaded by the Office of the Presidential Assistant for Northern Luzon through ASec. Ana Carmela V. Remigio, the Philippine Red Cross Ilocos Norte Chapter in collaboration with various agencies, has signified its oneness as they gathered with a unified, critical mission to meet an ambitious lifesaving target.

Its substantial goal, as evidence by its actual output, directly answers the urgent demand in local blood bank centers. Driven by its multiplier impact that every Gift of Life: Every single donation can save up to three Lives.

More than showing its gratitude to the main organizers spearheaded by the Office of the Presidential Assistant for Northern Luzon, ASec Ana Carmela Ventura-Remigio, are the blood donors for stepping up, rolling up their sleeves, and making this drive a historic success!

This partnership means so much more than a single event. It shows a lifelong commitment to the health and safety of the Ilocano community.

Health Caravan in Honor of Gov. Roque Ablan Sr.

In celebration of the 120th Birth Anniversary of Governor Roque Ablan Sr., the Philippine Red Cross Ilocos Norte Chapter, together with the Provincial Health Office of Ilocos Norte and the Ablan Family, conducted a Health Caravan in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.

This meaningful activity brought essential health services closer to the community and honored the legacy of Governor Roque Ablan Sr. through a continuing commitment to service, compassion, and humanity.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this activity possible. Together, we continue to serve and make a difference in the lives of our fellow Ilocanos. ❤️🩺🇵🇭

Safer First Responders, Stronger Communities!

We are grateful to the Local Government Unit of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, headed by Hon. Ed Mar Vincent Bonoan, Municipal Mayor, together with Ms. Ryan Rollaine Simon, LDRRMO, for enrolling their municipal first responders in the Philippine Red Cross Membership Program.

Our first responders are always among the first to act when emergencies and disasters happen. By supporting their enrollment, the LGU of San Nicolas is taking an important step toward protecting those who serve and keeping the community prepared.

The Red Cross Membership provides members with year-round accident protection and access to Philippine Red Cross services during emergencies, sickness, and disasters, subject to the program’s terms and conditions.

Engaged with the Philippine Red Cross – Ilocos Norte Chapter during the Blood Services Recognition Ceremony held on July 31, 2026, at SM City Laoag, where the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Laoag City was recognized as a recipient of a National Award for its valuable contributions to the Blood Program. As the former SK Federation President of Laoag City, it was a meaningful honor to receive this recognition alongside Hon. Rionell Jan Respicio, the current SK Federation President, and to witness the continuing commitment of Laoag's young leaders to volunteerism and community service.

The recognition reflects what young people can accomplish when they choose to turn their leadership into meaningful service. The National Youth Commission continues to encourage youth participation in volunteerism and community development, recognizing that even the simplest act of giving can create a lasting impact and, in the case of blood donation, literally help save a life. May this recognition inspire more young Filipinos to give their time, resources, and compassion in service of others. 🇵🇭🚀

We kindly appeal to all parents and guardians to allow and encourage your children to receive the MR SIA vaccine. This vaccination is an important step in protecting our children from measles and rubella and helping prevent the spread of these diseases in our community.

🛡️❤️ PHILIPPINE RED CROSS ILOCOS NORTE SUPPORTS MR-SIA 2026 ❤️🛡️

The Philippine Red Cross – Ilocos Norte Chapter, in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH), Provincial Health Office (PHO), Laoag City Health Office, and our dedicated Barangay Health Offices, joins hands in protecting our children against the threat of Measles (Tigdas) and Rubella (Tigdas-Hangin).

Through the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA), we are working together to reach eligible children and provide them with life-saving protection against these highly contagious diseases.

As heavy rainfalls continue to affect many communities, flooding and frequent typhoons have become serious reminders that emergencies can happen at any time. Roads can become impassable, electricity may be interrupted, communication lines may fail, and families may be forced to evacuate with little or no warning. In situations like these, 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 is a responsibility that can help protect lives, reduce panic, and make recovery easier for everyone.

One of the most important ways to prepare is by having a 𝐆𝐨 𝐁𝐚𝐠 ready at all times. A Go Bag should contain essential items such as drinking water, ready-to-eat food, medicines, a first-aid kit, flashlight, batteries, power bank, charger, extra clothes, rain protection, cash, and important documents placed in a waterproof pouch. These supplies may seem simple, but during an emergency they can provide safety, comfort, communication, and immediate support while waiting for rescue, evacuation, or assistance.

Disaster preparedness is important because it allows families to respond quickly and calmly when every second counts. Instead of rushing to gather belongings during heavy rains or rising floodwaters, a prepared household can focus on staying safe, following evacuation instructions, and helping vulnerable family members such as children, older adults, and persons with medical needs. Preparation also reduces confusion and fear, especially during strong typhoons when conditions can change rapidly.
