Las Piñas Doctors Hospital, Inc. ㅡ Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department proudly celebrates Father's Day. 💙

Today, we honor and celebrate all fathers, father figures, and caregivers whose love, strength, and dedication make a lasting difference in the lives of their families and communities.

Just as fathers offer support, encouragement and guidance, we want to do the same for the patients and families we serve. Their perseverance and dedication inspire us every day and challenge us to deliver the highest quality of care. We are also committed to helping our patients who are fathers restore function, independence and confidence so they can continue to perform their important roles in their families and homes.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all fathers who work tirelessly to care for and uplift those around them. May this day be a celebration of your sacrifices, achievements, and the invaluable role you play in helping others grow and thrive.

Happy Father's Day from the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department! 👔💙👨‍👧‍👦

Day 5 of 5: 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐱𝐞𝐝?

Scoliosis is not always completely “fixed,” but it can be effectively managed to improve spinal alignment, function, and overall quality of life. Treatment is individualized and depends on factors such as age, curve severity, risk of progression, and symptoms.

✨ 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫: Early detection and timely intervention can help prevent curve progression and support better long-term outcomes.

As we conclude our Scoliosis Awareness Month series, let this be a reminder that awareness is the first step toward action. Stay informed, know the signs, encourage regular screening, and seek professional guidance when needed.

Day 4 of 5: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐬 & 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬.

Many misconceptions have been formed regarding Scoliosis in popular culture. It is important to distinguish which are facts, myths, and half-truths.

Knowing the facts helps us understand the condition better and give us better options.

At the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department of Las Piñas Doctors Hospital, Inc., we advocate for awareness, early detection, and appropriate management to support optimal spinal health and function.

Day 3 of 5: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬?

There are many possible causes of scoliosis, but not all causes apply to every case.

Scoliosis can be classified as 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 or 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥, each with different underlying factors. While many cases are idiopathic (with no known cause), others may be linked to congenital conditions, neuromuscular disorders, posture-related issues, or other musculoskeletal factors.

Understanding the possible causes and risk factors can help promote early detection, proper evaluation, and timely intervention.

At the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department of Las Piñas Doctors Hospital, Inc., we advocate for awareness, early detection, and appropriate management to support optimal spinal health and function.

Day 2 of 5: 𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝑰 𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒊𝒇 𝑰 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒔𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒔?

Notice any of these signs? A simple screening can help identify scoliosis early.

Early recognition and proper assessment allow timely intervention, helping prevent curve progression and promoting better long-term outcomes. Regular screening and consultation with healthcare professionals are important, especially during growth years.

At the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department of Las Piñas Doctors Hospital, Inc., we advocate for awareness, early detection, and appropriate management to support optimal spinal health and function.

Day 1 of 5: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬?

Scoliosis is a condition in which the spine develops an abnormal sideways curve, often appearing as an “S” or “C” shape when viewed from behind. It commonly develops during childhood and adolescence, particularly during periods of rapid growth.

The most common type is Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS), which usually occurs between the ages of 11 and 18. “Idiopathic” means that the exact cause is unknown. While many cases are mild, some spinal curves may progress over time and affect posture, balance, and overall function if not properly monitored.

At the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department of Las Piñas Doctors Hospital, Inc., we advocate for awareness, early detection, and appropriate management to support optimal spinal health and function.
