Further strengthening its commitment to quality technical-vocational education and workforce development, Cagayan State University (CSU) Lasam Campus has secured the accreditation of three additional TESDA Assessment Centers, expanding its capacity to provide nationally recognized skills certification for students and the community.
The newly accredited Assessment Centers are for Computer Systems Servicing (CSS) NC II, Web Development NC III, and Programming (Visual) NC II (PVI NC II). With these additions, CSU-Lasam now operates a total of six TESDA-accredited Assessment Centers and one TESDA Training Center, broadening access to competency assessment and National Certification (NC) for aspiring skilled professionals.
Campus Executive Officer Prof. Florante Victor M. Balatico, PhD, underscored the significance of the achievement, emphasizing its impact on learners and the community.
"By expanding our accredited Assessment Centers, we are providing more opportunities for our students and the community to earn nationally recognized certifications that enhance their employability and professional growth," Balatico said.
Meanwhile, TVET Coordinator Ronald Q. Constantino, MATEM, emphasized the direct benefits that the new assessment centers will bring to students and the institution.
"These new assessment centers will greatly benefit our students because they can now take their TESDA assessments right here at CSU-Lasam instead of traveling to other municipalities or provinces. This saves them both time and transportation expenses. More importantly, they can earn TESDA National Certificates that are recognized by employers, giving them better opportunities for employment and career advancement," Constantino said.
He added that the newly accredited facilities will further strengthen the university's technical-vocational education programs by ensuring that students develop competencies aligned with industry standards.
"The new assessment centers also strengthen our academic programs by ensuring that our students skills meet industry standards. For the university, they enhance our TVET services, open more opportunities for scholarships and partnerships, and contribute to the campus income while producing more skilled and globally competitive graduates," he added.
The newly accredited facilities are expected to benefit not only current students but also graduates, job seekers, and members of partner communities who wish to validate their competencies through TESDA National Certification.
