Chickenpox, also known as varicella, is a highly contagious viral infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VZV). It commonly begins with fever, tiredness, headache, or loss of appetite, followed by an itchy rash that develops into fluid-filled blisters and eventually scabs.

𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙩 𝙨𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙?
Chickenpox can spread through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes, as well as through direct contact with fluid from the blisters. A person can spread the virus before the rash appears and until all the blisters have crusted over.

𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙬𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙞𝙩?
The best protection against chickenpox is vaccination. Good hand hygiene, avoiding close contact with infected individuals, and staying home when sick can also help prevent transmission.

𝙄𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙥𝙤𝙭:
Stay home and avoid close contact with others, especially newborns, pregnant individuals, and people with weakened immune systems. Keep the rash clean, avoid scratching the blisters, and seek medical advice when needed.

The 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐳𝐩𝐢 successfully conducted the Emergency First Aid Training with the theme, "Respond with Confidence: Equipping Educators and Staff to Save Lives."

The activity provided our Basic Education faculty and staff with essential knowledge and practical skills in emergency first aid, enabling them to respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies within the school community. Through informative discussions, live demonstrations, and hands-on practice, participants gained the confidence and competence needed to provide immediate care while awaiting professional medical assistance.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our distinguished resource speakers and trainers for sharing their expertise, as well as to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this meaningful activity. Your commitment to learning strengthens our collective mission of fostering a safer, healthier, and more prepared school environment.

“𝓟𝓲𝓷𝓴 𝓮𝔂𝓮” is a common eye condition that causes redness, irritation, and discharge — but did you know there are different types?

Viral Conjunctivitis – Often associated with colds. It is highly contagious but usually clears up on its own within a few days.

Allergic Conjunctivitis – Triggered by allergens like pollen, dust, or pet dander. It is not contagious and is often accompanied by itching and watery eyes.

Bacterial Conjunctivitis – Caused by bacteria and may produce thicker discharge. This type may require medical treatment to prevent complications.

If you experience persistent redness, pain, swelling, thick discharge, or vision changes, consult a healthcare professional for proper evaluation and treatment.

📌 Practice good hygiene: wash hands frequently, avoid touching your eyes, and do not share towels or personal items to prevent spread.

Valentine’s Day at Divine Word College of Legazpi was filled with love, friendship, and joy. Students shared smiles, laughter, and meaningful moments, reminding the community that love goes beyond romance, it is also expressed through kindness, respect, and unity. The celebration reflected the spirit of togetherness and warmth that defines the Divinian community.
