๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: The ๐‚๐จ๐š๐ฌ๐ญ ๐†๐ฎ๐š๐ซ๐ ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐ญ ๐๐ข๐œ๐จ๐ฅ, through the ๐‚๐จ๐š๐ฌ๐ญ ๐†๐ฎ๐š๐ซ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐’๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐’๐ฎ๐›-๐”๐ง๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ข๐œ๐จ๐ฅ (๐‚๐†๐๐’๐’๐”-๐๐‚๐‹), successfully conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) Training for Thirty-Seven (37) participants from Coast Guard District Bicol, its Stations, and OPCON Units on 11โ€“14 August 2026 at the Function Hall, Coast Guard District Bicol, Brgy Rawis, Legazpi City, Albay.

The CGNSSU-BCL continuously conducts BLS training as part of its commitment to strengthen the emergency response capabilities and promote a culture of preparedness among Coast Guard personnel.

The training aimed to equip participants with essential, life-saving skills and knowledge necessary to respond effectively during medical emergencies. Participants underwent comprehensive lectures and intensive hands-on training on high-quality Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with Automated External Defibrillator (AED), rescue breathing using a Bag-Valve-Mask (BVM), and Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) management.

Through continuous training and skills development, the CGNSSU-BCL remains committed to building a competent, confident, and CPR-ready workforce capable of responding promptly and effectively when every second counts.

Ang makabuluhang pagsasanay na ito ay bahagi rin ng Intensified Community Awareness Response Enforcement (ICARE) program ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). Sa pamamagitan ng programang ito, patuloy na inilalapit ng PCG ang mga serbisyong sagip-buhay, pangkaligtasan, at pangkalusugan diretso sa ating mga komunidad.
Alinsunod sa tema at sa layunin ng ICARE, sinanay ng ating mga Coast Guard Nursing Service personnel ang ating mga Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) at mga lokal na mangingisda upang maging ๐ฅ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ž๐ฌ๐š๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ. Ngayon, mas handa na silang rumesponde sa anumang emergency maging ito ay sa loob ng tahanan, komunidad o sa gitna ng laot.

โ€ข ๐Ÿ‘. ๐‚๐Ž๐•๐„๐‘: Takpan ng face mask o malinis na tela ang ilong at bibig ng biktima upang maiwasan ang pagkalat ng droplets o impeksyon habang nagreresponde.
โ€ข ๐Ÿ’. ๐‚๐Ž๐Œ๐๐‘๐„๐’๐’: Simulan ang tuloy-tuloy na pagpindot sa gitna ng dibdib (chest compressions) sa lalim na 2 hanggang 2.4 pulgada at bilis na 100 hanggang 120 compressions kada minuto.

While Nurse Officers are primarily responsible for delivering quality nursing care and services, providing emergency medical response, and ensuring the well-being of Coast Guard personnel, their role as PCG officers also requires them to maintain a high level of operational readiness. Participation in marksmanship training and record firing activities enhances their firearm handling skills, shooting proficiency, and confidence in carrying out duties in various operational environments.

This activity highlights that Coast Guard Nurse Officers are not only dedicated healthcare professionals but are also capable and mission-ready officers who continuously develop competencies necessary to support the function of the Philippine Coast Guard.
