PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT: TB CASES SURGING IN METRO MANILA
The Department of Health (DOH) has raised concern over a sharp rise in Tuberculosis (TB) casesโespecially in Metro Manilaโwith over 101,807 cases recorded as of February 16, 2026.
DOH Undersecretary Albert Domingo warns that TB is airborne, meaning it spreads through tiny droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or even talksโmaking it highly contagious, especially in crowded or poorly ventilated spaces.
