𝐓𝐖𝐎-𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒' 𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍|2026-2027
𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 (𝐍𝐄𝐌𝐒𝐔 𝐋𝐂), formally welcomed its freshmen, transferees, and returnees during the Students’ Orientation Program for Academic Year 2026–2027 on 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 17-18, 2026 @𝐍𝐄𝐌𝐒𝐔 𝐋𝐂 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐫.
The program commenced with a spirited cheer from 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 of students 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 17, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM representing the different academic programs, namely: 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐝), 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐁𝐒𝐄𝐝), 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐁𝐒𝐇𝐌), and 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝐁𝐒𝐂𝐒), setting an energetic tone for the afternoon’s activities.
On August 18, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the students from the 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 attended the orientation, representing the programs of 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲, and 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.
The 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 of students came from the 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 on August 18, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, representing the programs of 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 and 𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬.
The 2-𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬' 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 began with a prayer through a 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 followed by the Welcome Address delivered by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐏. 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚. In her message, Prof. Villanueva emphasized the importance of 𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑐𝑖𝑝𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑒, 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦,and 𝑎𝑑ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑖𝑡𝑦'𝑠 𝑟𝑢𝑙𝑒𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑝𝑜𝑙𝑖𝑐𝑖𝑒𝑠. She also reminded students to actively participate and listen attentively throughout the orientation.
𝐌𝐬. 𝐉𝐨𝐚𝐧 𝐙𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚, 𝐴𝑠𝑠𝑜𝑐. 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑓𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑜𝑟 𝐼𝐼/ 𝐺𝑢𝑖𝑑𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝐶𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑙𝑜𝑟, also extended a warm welcome to the students, drawing inspiration from the day’s scorching weather. She highlighted the various opportunities, benefits, and achievements that students may pursue as members of the NEMSU community and as future graduates.
She also expressed that NEMSU will mold students into a 𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐓 21st 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑡, 𝐴𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑒, 𝐷𝑖𝑔𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦-𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒, 𝐼𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑣𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒, 𝐴𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒, 𝑁𝑢𝑟𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔, and 𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑠𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒. Lastly, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐉𝐨𝐚𝐧 challenged the students to become 𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬.
The program continued with a message from 𝐃𝐫. 𝐈𝐯𝐲 𝐌. 𝐎𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐨, 𝑂𝐼𝐶-𝐶𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑢𝑠 𝐷𝑖𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑟/ 𝑂𝑓𝑓𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑆𝑡𝑢𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑊𝑒𝑙𝑓𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝐷𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝐻𝑒𝑎𝑑 (𝑂𝑆𝑊𝐷). She introduced the resource speakers from the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐲, 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐏𝐍𝐏), and 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐮 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐁𝐅𝐏) and emphasized the university’s commitment to addressing student concerns, suggestions, and ideas.
She likewise highlighted 𝐍𝐄𝐌𝐒𝐔 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐒, about the importance of upholding the university’s core values such as 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑎𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛, 𝐴𝑐𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦, 𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠, 𝐸𝑥𝑐𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑆𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑒.
Safety and security were among the key themes of the orientation. 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐭 (𝐓𝐒𝐠), 𝐉𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐝𝐨 (𝐎𝐒), 𝐏𝐀, of the PNP discussed the "𝐼𝑚𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑣𝑖𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝐸𝑥𝑝𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝐷𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝑅𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑔𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑆𝑎𝑓𝑒𝑡𝑦 𝐴𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠", emphasizing the importance of vigilance and awareness in maintaining a safe environment.
Meanwhile, 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐈𝐈, 𝐄𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨 𝐘. 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐚 𝐉𝐫., 𝑂𝑓𝑓𝑖𝑐𝑒r-𝑖𝑛-𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑔𝑒 and 𝑀𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑐𝑖𝑝𝑎𝑙 𝐹𝑖𝑟𝑒 𝑀𝑎𝑟𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑙 of the 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐮 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, discussed the "𝑆𝑖𝑚𝑢𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐶𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝐹𝑖𝑟𝑒 𝐷𝑟𝑖𝑙𝑙", introducing students to basic fire safety procedures and the proper use of fire extinguishers.
The PNP’s safety discussion continued through the presentation of 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐭, 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐝 𝐉. 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨 on "𝑃𝑢𝑏𝑙𝑖𝑐 𝑆𝑎𝑓𝑒𝑡𝑦 𝐴𝑤
𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑃𝑟𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑀𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑠 𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑟𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑊𝑒𝑎𝑝𝑜𝑛 𝑇ℎ𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑠." The session further emphasized the importance of preparedness and responsible action in emergency situations.
The orientation also featured a Gender and Development (GAD) discussion focusing on "𝐺𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟-𝑏𝑎𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝑣𝑖𝑜𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒." by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐂. 𝐎𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐚, 𝐄𝐝.𝐃 reminding students that support and assistance are available through the appropriate university offices.
The program further featured discussions on 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐨-𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 for students who have passion and interesting vision for culture, history, and belief through a meaningful movement of rythm.
Afterwards, the multimedia presentation of 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 (𝐓𝐒𝐒) 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 providing students with a broader understanding of university life and the opportunities available to them, followed by the multimedia presentation of 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬' 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐬 (𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂) of NEMSU LC featuring the student trainings, benefits, and opourtunities.
More than an introductory activity, the 𝑆𝑡𝑢𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑂𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑚 served as a platform for welcoming new members of the NEMSU community while equipping them with essential knowledge on university policies, student services, safety, and personal responsibility.
As the new academic year begins, NEMSU welcomes its students with a renewed commitment to building a safe, responsible, compassionate, and service-oriented academic community.
