On July 28, 2026, the Lingayen Rural Health Unit III, under the leadership of RHU III Rural Health Physician/Head, Dra. Shayne C. Delos Santosโ€“Borling, in partnership with the Pangasinan Medical Society โ€“ West Central Chapter, successfully conducted the Free Minor Surgery: "Bukol Mo, Alis Ko" at the Barangay Basing Health Center.

The activity was supported by the Junior Interns of Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation (VMUF), who assisted the healthcare team in ensuring the smooth delivery of services throughout the program.

A total of 27 qualified residents of Lingayen received free minor surgical procedures, providing them with safe, accessible, and quality healthcare services. This initiative reflects the continued commitment of RHU III and its partners to bringing essential medical care closer to the community and improving the overall well-being of every Lingayenense.

This meaningful activity would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication and teamwork of the Rural Health Unit III staff, the Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), the Department of Health (DOH) Nurses, the Junior Interns of Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation (VMUF), and the Pangasinan Medical Society โ€“ West Central Chapter. Their collective efforts, compassion, and commitment to public service made this initiative a success and brought quality healthcare closer to the people of Lingayen.

Rural Health Unit III continued its commitment to promoting maternal and child health by successfully conducting Mother Classes in BARANGAY MATALAVA on July 23, 2026, and BARANGAY MALAWA on July 24, 2026. These activities provided expectant mothers with essential health education and practical guidance to support safe pregnancies and the healthy development of their babies.

Under the leadership of Dra. Shayne C. Delos Santosโ€“Borling, Head of Rural Health Unit III, the activities were facilitated by the dedicated RHU III staff together with the junior interns from VMUF. Participants actively engaged in discussions on the First 1,000 Days of Life, Prenatal Care, Family Planning, Breastfeeding, and Immunization, strengthening their understanding of key maternal and child health practices.

Each Mother Class also began with a Zumba session to encourage physical activity and promote overall wellness among the participants. Mother kits were distributed as tokens of support and appreciation, while the junior interns from VMUF, under the guidance and supervision of the RHU III healthcare team, conducted one-on-one consultations to provide personalized health guidance and address the concerns of the participating mothers.

Rural Health Unit III extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participating mothers and to the junior interns from VMUF for their active participation and dedication in making these activities meaningful and successful. Through sustained health education and community-based initiatives, RHU III remains committed to empowering mothers, promoting healthier pregnancies, and building stronger, healthier communities.

Empowering expectant mothers through health education remains one of the priorities of Rural Health Unit III. On July 16, 2026, RHU III successfully conducted a Mother Class in BARANGAY DULAG, providing mothers with valuable information and guidance to help ensure a healthy pregnancy and a positive beginning for their babies.

The activity was led by Dra. Shayne C. Delos Santosโ€“Borling, Head of Rural Health Unit III, together with the dedicated RHU III healthcare team and the junior interns from VMUF. Participants attended informative discussions on the First 1,000 Days of Life, Prenatal Care, Family Planning, Breastfeeding, and Immunization, reinforcing the importance of maternal health and early childhood care.

To promote physical wellness, the activity commenced with a Zumba exercise, encouraging participants to stay active throughout their pregnancy. Following the educational sessions, the junior interns from VMUF, under the guidance and supervision of the RHU III healthcare professionals, conducted one-on-one consultations with the participating mothers to provide individualized health guidance and address their concerns.

Accessible and quality healthcare continues to reach every community as PuroKalusugan once again brought essential medical services closer to the residents of Barangay Aliwekwek on July 15, 2026. Through the collaborative efforts of healthcare professionals and partner institutions, a total of 109 beneficiaries were served during this meaningful community health initiative.

Led by RHU III Physician Dr. Shayne C. Delos Santos-Borling, alongside the Junior Interns of Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation, DOH headed by DMO Jonathan Sison, Midwives, and the dedicated RHU III Staff, the activity provided 75 free medical consultations, 16 free chest X-ray services, 16 dental consultations and services, 11 blood sugar screenings, and welcomed 7 generous blood donors through the Mobile Blood Donation Program.

This initiative was made possible through the invaluable support of RGQ Medical Center for the free chest X-ray services, Conrado F. Estrella Regional Medical and Trauma Center for the Mobile Blood Donation Program, and Dr. Elaine De Guzman for the dental services.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the Barangay Officials of Barangay Aliwekwek, headed by Barangay Captain Edwin Dela Cruz, the dedicated Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), all our partner agencies, volunteers, and everyone who contributed their time and expertise in making this activity a success.
