A dermatologist is a medical doctor that has proper training and expertise to diagnose and treat various skin, hair and nail diseases.

In the Philippines, after a medical doctor passes the licensure examinations, he/she undergoes a 3 year dermatology residency training program at a hospital accredited by the Philippine Dermatological Society (PDS). After training, he/she takes the written, practical and oral examinations to be a specialist and claim the title of a board-certified DERMATOLOGIST.

Not all “skin clinics” have a dermatologist. This is for public awareness.
