🌟DAY 5 | Looking Back, Moving Forward🌟

Five days. One shared commitment. A stronger BIDANI Network. 💚

The 2026 SUC BIDANI Training of Trainers (TOT) and General Assembly came to a close with a day of reflection, celebration, and looking ahead to the future of BIDANI. Last August 14, 2026, the morning’s closing activities brought together the learnings and experiences from the training through synthesis, recognition, and fellowship.

But Day 5 was not simply about ending the training — it was about what comes next.

During the General Assembly, participants engaged in conversations around three important directions for BIDANI:
🎓 BIDANI as a Service Learning Platform — exploring opportunities for BIDANI to connect instruction, research, extension, and meaningful community engagement in the different SUCs.
🌏 BIDANI Regionalization — strengthening the network’s reach and presence across regions through greater collaboration among SUCs.
🎉 BIDANI 50th Anniversary — beginning preparations for a significant milestone in 2028, celebrating five decades of BIDANI’s journey and looking toward the future.

From strengthening systems and skills to imagining what BIDANI can become in the years ahead, the five-day gathering was a reminder that the work continues beyond the training room.

✨ Five days may be over, but the journey continues.

Here’s to stronger partnerships, wider reach, deeper learning, and advancing Nutrition-In-Development through the BIDANI Network of SUCs.

Padayon, BIDANI! 💚

🌟DAY 4 | From Plans to Meaningful Action 🌟

The learning continued on Day 4 of the 2026 SUC BIDANI Training of Trainers (TOT) and General Assembly—bringing participants closer to the heart of development planning: turning community priorities into coordinated, nutrition-responsive action. 💚

The day began with the continuation of Situational Analysis and Sectoral Action Planning, where participants further developed their sectoral action plans and explored the harmonization of the Barangay Integrated Development Plan (BIDP) with the Barangay Nutrition Action Plan (BNAP).

Participants then presented their sectoral plans and revisited the Barangay Integrated Development Plan, strengthening their understanding of how different sectors can work together toward shared community development goals.

In the afternoon, the focus shifted to Nutrition PPAs implementation, and the re-planning of BIDP and BNAP, followed by Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning at the SUC level — including MEAL activities, tools, and reporting.

✨ Day 4 reminded us that planning does not end when a plan is written.
It is a continuous process of aligning priorities, implementing actions, measuring progress, learning from results, and improving what comes next.

🌾 Plan together. Act together. Learn together. Grow together.

⭐️DAY 3 | Turning Data into Development Plan⭐️

By Day 3 of the 2026 SUC BIDANI Training of Trainers (TOT) , participants were moved beyond data collection and into one of the most important aspects of BIDANI work — using information to guide action through participative development planning. 💡📊

The day began with a continuation of Module 3, focusing on BMIS Web App Management and Administration at the SUC, city/municipal, and barangay levels. Participants also explored report generation features that transform community data into meaningful insights for planning and decision-making.

In the afternoon, participants engaged in hands-on discussions and workshops on Situational Analysis and Sectoral Action Planning. Using the Barangay Solutions Matrix, they analyzed community conditions, identified priority concerns, and developed evidence-based actions to address local development and nutrition challenges.

✨ Day 3 highlighted a key BIDANI principle: data only becomes valuable when it is transformed into informed decisions and collective action.

From data management to development planning, participants continue to build the knowledge and skills needed to support communities in achieving better nutrition and development outcomes.

🌱 DAY 2 | From Strategy to Action

Day 2 of the 2026 SUC BIDANI Training of Trainers (TOT) moved participants deeper into the BIDANI strategy — turning concepts into practical skills for implementation at the community level. 💚

The day began with a discussion on social mobilization, highlighting the importance of engaging people and communities in advancing nutrition and development. Participants then explored the establishment of the Barangay Management Information System (BMIS) and how reliable community-level data can support better development planning and decision-making in the barangays.

In the afternoon, the learning became even more hands-on through the BIDANI Family Data Sheet (FDS) and Data Encoding Workshop using the BMIS web application. Participants had the opportunity to work with the data collection and encoding process that supports the generation of useful information for barangay-level planning and action.

📊 From mobilizing communities to strengthening data systems, Day 2 emphasized one important lesson: community development and nutrition improvement is built on both social and information systems.

Two days down, and the learning continues!

🌱 DAY 1 | 2026 SUC BIDANI Training of Trainers & General Assembly

And just like that, Day 1 is in the books! 💚

Yesterday, the 2026 SUC BIDANI Training of Trainers (TOT) and General Assembly officially began at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, bringing together partners from 12 State Universities for five days of learning, collaboration, and strengthening the implementation of BIDANI.

The day opened with messages from leaders of University of the Philippines Los Baños, UPLB Research and Extension, UPLB College of Human Ecology, UPLB Institute of Human Nutrition and Food, BIDANI Network Program , and the National Nutrition Council (Official), setting the tone for a week centered on strengthening nutrition-oriented extension and development work.

Participants then explored BIDANI as an extension program of SUCs, including the mandates of SUCs, mandates of the LGUs (discussed by DILG Laguna) in providing social services, the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition, and the role of BIDANI as an extension program and development strategy.

In the afternoon, the sessions moved toward building stronger SUC-BIDANI teams. Participants learned about BIDANI’s corporate identity, the organization and roles of the SUC-BIDANI core team, and administrative and logistical considerations in program implementation. The day ended with an interactive LIPAD workshop, giving participants an opportunity to put their learning into action.

✨ Day 1 set the foundation. Now, it’s time to build on the learning, strengthen partnerships, and translate ideas into action for better nutrition and community development.

One day down. More learning, collaboration, and action ahead! 💚
