🔴 TIGDAS / MEASLES
• Mataas ang lagnat
• May tatlong C : Cough (ubo) , Colds (sipon) at Conjunctivitis (sore eyes)

Valid mag-research. Pero sana, bago tayo mag-share ng “warning” or fear-based posts, make sure na evidence-based talaga ang information kasi ang isang misleading post can create unnecessary fear, especially among parents.

Sagot: The MR campaign dose is an additional dose intended to strengthen protection and close immunity gaps.

During measles/rubella campaigns, children in the target age group (6-59months old) may receive an additional MR dose EVEN IF they have previously received measles, MR, or MMR vaccines.

So halimbawa:

👶 9 months: nabigyan na ng measles vaccine
👶 12 months: nabigyan na ng MMR
💉 MR SIA: eligible pa rin according to the campaign guidelines.

There is no such thing as vaccine overdose.

Measles is not just “ordinary measles.” It is highly contagious/nakakahawa and can cause serious complications, tulad ng pneumonia, encephalitis (pamamaga ng utak)blindness, and death. Globally, an estimated 95,000 people died from measles in 2024, most of them children under 5.

💡ALAM NIYO BA?
May 2nd dose (booster dose) ng MMR talaga.

After the 1st dose of MMR at 12months old, the 2nd dose can be given at least 4 weeks later or at 4–6 years old, depending on the recommended schedule ng pediatrician.

👉 Usually, ang Measles vaccine ay routinely binibigay at 9 months old as part of the regular vaccination schedule. Pero kapag OUTBREAK/EPIDEMIC, puwedeng bigyan ng Measles or MR vaccine ang baby as early as 6 months old for additional protection. So this MR-SIA is good to be given. But this is considered a SUPPLEMENTAL dose. Ibig sabihin, kailangan pa rin matanggap ni baby ang routine Measles vaccine at 9 months, and MMR at 12 months as part of the primary vaccination series.

✅ And here's something parents should remember:
👉If your child already received a measles-containing vaccine or MMR before and had no serious adverse reaction, there is no reason to assume that an MR campaign dose will suddenly be dangerous simply because it is another measles-containing vaccine.

Of course, no vaccine can be guaranteed to cause zero side effects, so PROPER SCREENING by a healthcare professional still matters esp those na first time makakareceive ng vaccine.

❌ “Pero baka magkaron ng autism?”
👉No. Vaccines do not cause autism.
Extensive research has looked at this question for decades, and the World Health Organization (WHO) reaffirmed in its 2025 review that there is no causal link between vaccines and autism. The old study that started the MMR-autism scare was found to be seriously flawed and was later retracted. Multiple subsequent studies have not found an association between MMR vaccination and autism.

✅And yes, vaccines can have side effects. Puwedeng magkaroon ng soreness sa injection site, fever, mild rash, or body aches. Usually, these are mild and temporary. Serious allergic reactions are rare.

But autism is NOT a vaccine side effect.

MR and MMR are also not exactly the same vaccine:

🟢 MR = Measles + Rubella
🟢 MMR = Measles + Mumps + Rubella

Pero parehong may measles and rubella components, and additional measles-containing doses are used in vaccination campaigns to strengthen protection.

So instead of:

❌ “Nabakunahan na dati, bakit babakunahan ulit?”
❌ “Baka overdose na yan.”
❌ “Baka mag-autism.”

Let's ask the right questions:

✅ What vaccine is being given?
✅ What is the purpose of the campaign dose?
✅ Is my child eligible?
✅ What are the expected side effects and contraindications?

And most importantly:
Ask your pediatrician or health center doctor/nurse — not just an influencer or a comment on Facebook or TikTok.

Protect your child with facts, not fear. ❤️

At the end of the day, kayo pa din mga magulang ang magdedecide, ang mga doctors nyo po ay nandito to help you make INFORMED DECISIONS.

Ask your Pedia or doctors, not your fb groups, kapitbahay or sagoogle or chatgpt 🤪

That’s all! And I, thank you. Bow. 😝

PS. FOR MY PATIENTS, please FOLLOW and READ naman my posts, medyo napapagod na ko magreply isa isa sa inyo and magexplain regarding this mr sia. Next question pls 🤣

ANYTIME after any inactivated vaccine pwede makareceive ng MRSIA vaccine, kesa nabigaya kahapon nun isang araw or isang linggo, pwede ibigay anytime.

🦟 CHIKUNGUNYA ALERT: Alamin, Iwasan, at Mag-ingat! 👶👧👦

• May lagnat

⚠️ Chikungunya ba o Dengue?

🔸 Hirap uminom o kumain
🔸 Matamlay o inaantok

Stay protected. Iwas lamok, iwas sakit! 🦟

📢 A Gentle Reminder to All My Dear Patients and Parents ❤️

First of all, THANK YOU for your trust and for allowing me to be part of your child's healthcare journey. It is truly a privilege to care for your children, and I always do my best to respond to your messages as soon as I can. That said, I kindly ask for your patience while waiting for my reply.

Please understand that I am not able to respond immediately all the time. Aside from seeing patients in the clinic and hospital, I also do hospital rounds, attend deliveries, manage emergencies, and, like everyone else, I also have personal and family responsibilities. My phone is not glued to my hands, and there are many times when I simply cannot check or respond to messages.

There are times when:

🚗 I am driving, and for everyone's safety, I do not reply to messages while driving.
🏥 I am doing hospital rounds, attending to admitted patients, or if am at my clinic at Holy Family Hospital, we have a very poor signal including that of my secretary
👶 I am examining patients, attending deliveries, or handling medical emergencies.
🏡 I am at home spending time with my family, doing household chores, bathing, eating, or resting.
😴 I may also be asleep, especially after long stressful days

💙 To my long-time ("OG") patients and parents, you probably know that I usually reply quite quickly whenever I can because I already know your child, their medical history, and we've already established a doctor-patient relationship.

For new patients, however, I hope you understand that it may take me longer to respond to medical questions. It is difficult—and often inappropriate—for me to give medical advice when I have not yet met or examined your child. In many cases, I may recommend that your child be seen in the clinic first so I can assess them properly and safely.

But generally, as long as gising ako at hawak ko phone ko I reply quick.

📩 When sending me a message, may I ask one small favor?
Please send your complete concern in your first message instead of just saying "Hi" or "Good day." This helps save both of us time because I can read your concern immediately and reply appropriately once I'm available.

For example, instead of: *Hi Doc.*

You may send: *Good morning, Doc. This is Juan Dela Cruz's mother. He has had a fever since last night (38.8°C) despite paracetamol. He's still drinking well and has no cough or colds. May I ask what I should do?*

This allows me to respond more efficiently without having to wait for another message. If more than 24 hours have passed and I still haven't replied, please don't hesitate to send your message again. There are days when I receive an overwhelming number of messages, and despite my best efforts, some conversations may unintentionally get buried. A gentle follow-up is perfectly okay.

🙏 I also have one humble request.

If you happen to know my family members, I sincerely ask that you please do not message or call them to get my attention. They are not involved in my medical practice, and I hope we can respect their privacy. I promise I will respond as soon as I am able. Or better, you may text my secretaries instead. Most of the info you need (schedule etc) is here at my page, you just need to READ 🙂

🚨 If your child has an urgent medical concern or is experiencing an emergency, please do not wait for my reply. Instead, proceed immediately to the nearest Emergency Room or seek emergency medical care. Messaging me is not a substitute for emergency evaluation, and waiting for a response may delay the treatment your child needs.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and respect for my time, my family, and my profession. These simple boundaries allow me to provide the best possible care—not just to your child, but to all of my patients.

Thank you for your continued trust and kindness. ❤️
