I used to think, the debt... Just came from luxury.
In shopping. On the credit card. Because I just want to. ”

But I'm wrong.
I have a client. Eldest.
They are five siblings.
There are two jobs. No vice. No luxury.
But... Deep in debt.
Why?
Because it's his full salary... not for him.
For tuition, rent, medicine, rice.
For the family.

While he is?
Silently enduring. Silently working.
No complaints. There is no substitute.
That's when I realized:
Not all debts are due to negligence..
Sometimes, because of love.

On the responsibility.
For being the first born.
For being a "second parent. ”
We praise them...
“You are so diligent! ” “You are so kind! ”
But rarely ask:
“Are you tired yet?” ”
So if this is you...
Quietly giving, silent fighting...
Can help without consuming yourself.

It's okay to rest.

Be strong.

A gentle reminder to all parents 👇
Please, avoid saying these to your children:
❌ “Ako ang nagpaaral sa’yo.”

❌ “Kapal ng mukha mo.”

From the moment they were born until they can stand on their own,
they remain your responsibility, not someone who owes you.

When parents start believing that their children are in debt to them,

Sa mga “bread winner” or nasa sandwich generation, alam ko at ramdam ko ang challenge.

Iba-iba tayo ng situation sa buhay at kabataan,
pero palagi tayong may matututunan sa older generation, kundi man sila prepared dahil hindi sapat ang resources at alam nila noon.

Tayo ang mag simula ng pagbabago.

Sa atin magsimula ang generation na nag-iipon,
nagpapamana sa mga apo, handa sa retirement at higit sa lahat magpamana ng salita ng Diyos sa ating mga anak at mga apo. 🙏

Tayong mga makabagong magulang, praying tayo ang simula ng pagbabago. 😇
