PUROKALUSUGAN LAUNCHING:
Barangay 2 Poblacion, Malilipot, Albay
September 18, 2026

A meaningful day of health promotion, disease prevention, wellness, and community service was held at Barangay II Poblacion, Mallipot, Albay, through the PuroKalusugan Program, bringing together the local government, barangay officials, health workers, partners, and community members in a shared commitment to a healthier community.

The activity began with the Registration of Participants, Vital Signs and ITR, facilitated by Marjorie B. Bombase and the BHWs, followed by the Opening Prayer and National Anthem through an audio presentation.

The Welcome Remarks were delivered by Hermilyn H. De Guzman, MHO, Mallipot, followed by the Overview and Program Context of PuroKalusugan presented by Tricia B. Barozo, DMO IV, Provincial Department of Health Office - ALBAY.

The community then received a message from Hon. Elizabeth B. Fernandez, Punong Barangay of Barangay II Poblacion, highlighting the importance of collective participation in promoting community health.

The Pledge of Commitment Signing, led by Anthony Volante, HRH, marked a meaningful expression of support and shared responsibility among the LGU, Barangay, partners, DOH-HRH, health workers, and community stakeholders toward the continued implementation of health programs and services.

The commitment was followed by a timely Discussion on Dengue Prevention, emphasizing the importance of community action in preventing dengue through proper sanitation, elimination of mosquito breeding sites, and consistent observance of the 4 o'clock habit.

The advocacy continued with an energetic Zumba Activity led by the Brgy. 2 Zumba Family, featuring the “Alas Kwatro Kontra Mosquito” campaign jingle.

Combining fitness, fun, and health education, the activity reminded everyone that dengue prevention can be part of our everyday routine—especially at 4:00 PM, when we take action to eliminate mosquito breeding places and protect our families.

The participants were also inspired by the message of Hon. Paterno Brotamonte, Municipal Councilor and Committee on Health, reinforcing the importance of cooperation and active community participation in health promotion and disease prevention.

The activity culminated in the Opening of the Health Service Stations, where community members were able to access various services:
💉 Immunization — Ma. Dolores Evardone-HRH, Sarra Lorenzo-HRH
🥗 Nutrition — Rosana Borlagdan-BNS
🤰 Maternal Health — Theresa Anne Pena-HRH, Joean B. Boneo, RN/PHO

👁️ Eye Care — Alexander Villadolid II-HRH, Aileen S. Borbor-HRH
