Davao Occidental General Hospital (DOGH)
In celebration of World Social Work Day 2026, the Davao Occidental General Hospital – Medical Social Work Department proudly stands in solidarity with the global community in embracing this year’s theme:
“Co-Building Hope & Harmony: A Harambe Call to Unite a Divided Society.”
This year’s theme calls for collective action, a harambee, or shared responsibility, inviting individuals, families, and institutions to come together in rebuilding trust, restoring relationships, and fostering unity amidst diversity and adversity.
At DOGH, our social workers serve not only as providers of psychosocial support but as bridge-builders of hope and harmony. In every patient interaction, crisis intervention, and community engagement, we strive to create safe spaces where compassion thrives, voices are heard, and dignity is upheld. Through our Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services, we continue to promote healing that goes beyond the individual, reaching families and communities.
In a time where divisions may arise from social, economic, and emotional challenges, the role of social workers becomes even more vital. We are called to unite, empower, and inspire, transforming vulnerability into strength and adversity into opportunities for collective growth.
Today, we honor all social workers whose unwavering dedication continues to co-build a future grounded in hope, inclusivity, and harmony.
As we move forward, may we remain committed to working together hand in hand as one community, in shaping a more just, compassionate, and united society.
Happy World Social Work Day!
