Honored and grateful to receive this Certificate of Recognition for serving as a medical mission doctor.
Despite the long days and challenges as an OPD and Med Mission Doctor, being able to care for communities with limited to no access to healthcare reminds me why I chose this profession.
Medical missions may not solve everything. They are, in many ways, only a band-aid solution to the larger gaps in our healthcare system. But for many geographically isolated communities, this is the care that is available right now. And while the universal healthcare implementation continues to improve, i believe these missions remain necessary and meaningful.
If it helps bring care to people who otherwise would have none, then it is still worth showing up for.
Still a lot of work to do, but grateful to serve and learn every step of the way.
