🧡 There was a season when I believed that being a good mother meant saying yes to everyone except myself.
If I was tired, I pushed through.
If I wanted to rest, I felt guilty.
If I wanted time alone, I wondered if I was being selfish.
Somewhere along the way, I confused self-sacrifice with love.
But motherhood has been teaching me something different.
As my children grew older, I realized they weren't keeping score of how exhausted I was.
They noticed how I spoke to myself.
They noticed whether I took care of my health.
They noticed if I laughed.
They noticed whether I lived with joy or simply survived each day.
It made me ask myself:
"What kind of woman do I hope my daughter becomes?"
"What kind of partner do I hope my sons choose someday?"
The answer wasn't someone who disappears for everyone else.
The answer was someone kind.
Someone healthy.
Someone who has boundaries.
Someone who keeps growing.
I've learned that taking care of yourself isn't taking love away from your family.
It's showing them what love should look like.
If no one has told you this today...
You are allowed to become the woman you've always hoped to be, even while being an incredible mom.
🧡 What's one thing you've started doing for yourself this year? I'd genuinely love to read it.
