The Office of the Coast Guard Dental Surgeon participated in the 2nd PCG Retirees’ Day, held at the NHQ Shaded Area on 09 October 2026, with the theme “Honoring our PCG Retirees: United by Service, Bound by Honor, Inspiring Generations to Serve the Country. The Office provided oral health consultations and distributed dental kits to PCG retirees to help promote proper oral hygiene and remind them of the importance of taking care of their dental health.

This activity is a simple way of showing appreciation to our retirees who have dedicated years of service to the Philippine Coast Guard and to the country. Their commitment and sacrifices will always be remembered and continue to inspire the next generation of Coast Guardian.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Office of the Coast Guard Dental Surgeon congratulates LCDR KRISTEL CASANDRA L TAYLAN (DS) PCG on the successful completion of the Philippine Navy Instructor Qualification Course (PNIQC) Class 03-2026 that concluded on 29 September 2026.

The class consisted of 61 students from various Philippine Navy units, including three (3) Philippine Coast Guard officers.

The course strengthened the participants’ skills in effective instruction and training, contributing to their professional development and capacity to support personnel development within their respective units.

𝐀 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞

𝑳𝑶𝑶𝑲: The Office of the Coast Guard Dental Surgeon participated in the Medical and Dental Outreach Program hosted by the Liberty Insurance Corporation at the Diocesan Shrine, Parish of St. Clement, Dona Aurora Street, Angono, Rizal.

The outreach program brought together dedicated healthcare professionals and partners in service to provide essential medical and dental assistance to the community.

The Activity provided a meaningful opportunity to promote oral health and extend care to those needed it most.

𝑆𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐹𝑜𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑐 𝐷𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑦 𝑅𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Dental Personnel from the Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Army, Philippine Navy, and Philippine Air Force took part in the Forensic Odontology Enhancement Workshop conducted by the Dental Service, Philippine Army from 03 to -7-11 September 2026 in partnership with the Office of the Civil Defense, Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, and Philippine National Police.

The activity included Disaster Risk Reduction Orientation, Basic ICS Training, and Forensic Dentistry lectures and hands-on workshops, focused on strengthening skills in Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) and forensic response.

The workshop highlighted the importance of interoperability and readiness among uniformed dental personnel in responding to disasters and emergencies.

The activity culminated in a closing ceremony hosted by COL RANULFO O ESPERA DS MNSA, Chief Dental Service, Philippine Army, with COL NAPOLEON CROMWELL SOREN AGONCILLO JR MNSA (INF) PA, Assistant Chief of Staff for Education and Training (OG8), Philippine Army, as Guest of Honor and Speaker.

This training is more than just enhancing technical skills, it is about being prepared to work together and respond effectively when disasters strike.

Coast Guard Dental Surgeon CAPT JOSE Q LIM JR (DS) PCG, together with CAPT IAN DAVE P MUNAR (DS) PCG, Commanding Officer, CG Dental Training and Research Center, conducted a courtesy call with the Philippine National Police Health Service at Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Edsa, Quezon City, Metro Manila.

They were welcomed by PBGEN Portia B. Manalad, Director of the PNP Health Service; PCOL Alma E. Paredes, Chief of the Dental Division; and PCOL Mari-Len P. Ignacio, Chief of the Dental Oral Service Center.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss interagency collaboration, cross-training initiatives, and the exchange of best practices in health and dental services.

The activity also included a capability demonstration and a tour of the PNP dental facilities, providing valuable insights into the PNP Health Service’s facilities and capabilities.

The visit reflects the shared commitment of both agencies to strengthen professional ties and continuously enhance the delivery of health services in support of their personnel and the communities they serve.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Office of the Coast Guard Dental Surgeon, headed by CAPT JOSE Q LIM JR (DS) PCG, attended the 81st Founding Anniversary of the Philippine Navy Dental Service, with the theme: “PNDS @ 81: Advancing Mobile Dental Care towards a Multi-Domain, Self-Reliant, and Mission-Ready Force”.

The celebration was held last 04 August 2026 at the CPO Clubhouse, Naval Station Jose Francisco, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, with RADM EDWIN M NERA PN, Chief of Staff, Philippine Navy, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

The event also featured an insightful Scientific Seminar by Dr. Pocholo A. Loleng, DMD, FPCOI, President of the Philippine Institute of Digital Dentistry (PIDD), who shared valuable insights on “Application of Digital Technology in Dental Practice.”

Also in attendance was BGEN ISIDRO ALEX C URRIQUIAI DS, The Chief Dental Service, AFP, CAPT IAN DAVE P MUNAR (DS) PCG, Commanding Officer, Coast Guard Dental Training & Research Center and other fellow Dental Officers.
