Through structured training and industry-aligned programs, qualified applicants may progress toward potential deployment with Viking Cruises after completing their course and meeting all requirements.

𝐕𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬-𝐌𝐈𝐇𝐂𝐀 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐃𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬

Viking Cruises and MIHCA Manila - Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts formalized a partnership through a scholarship program aimed at creating career pathways for aspiring Filipino hospitality professionals in the global cruise industry. The agreement was signed on May 7 at MIHCA’s Illumine Restaurant in Ermita, Manila, led by Viking Cruises Vice President for Crew Operations Stewart Coote and MIHCA President Chef Paolo Santino C. Guevara.

The program establishes a structured scholarship-to-employment pathway, where selected scholars will undergo specialized training at MIHCA in Culinary, Food and Beverage, or Housekeeping programs. Upon completion and after meeting the required qualifications and standards, graduates will have an opportunity for deployment with Viking Cruises.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Viking Cruises Vice President for Crew Operations Mr. Stewart Coote said:

“We are creating pathways of opportunity for the families of existing Viking crew members and for aspiring individuals who may not otherwise have the financial resources to pursue careers in hospitality and service industries.” he said. “These partnerships are more than training programs. They are gateways to long-term careers, economic opportunity, and brighter futures. With MIHCA and our global training partners helping develop exceptional talent, and Viking providing meaningful career opportunities, we hope to help the next generation turn potential into possibility.”

The initiative highlights the alignment of hospitality education with international cruise industry needs, bringing together Viking Cruises and MIHCA to strengthen talent development and expand opportunities for Filipino professionals pursuing global hospitality careers.
