The Philippine Cancer Society was honored with the Systematic, Meaningful Patient Engagement Award at the Made with Patients Awards in Seville, Spain. Selected as one of 21 finalists from a global pool of 240 applications across 50 countries, the award was received by Dr. Herdee Luna during the Patient Engagement Open Forum 2026 (PEOF).

At the Philippine Cancer Society, the ACT NOW initiative was born from a simple conviction: every Filipino facing cancer deserves a caring hand to guide them through the fear, all the way to healing. By bringing mobile bus screening directly to our communities' doorsteps and providing dedicated patient navigation, we actively shorten the road to treatment and ensure no one falls through the cracks. We are inspired daily by the immense courage of our patients and the deep selflessness of our navigators who work tirelessly to turn fear into confidence. This recognition belongs to our community partners, health workers, and institutions who bring the true spirit of bayanihan to life—proving that when we extend a hand and guide a patient forward, it is a victory we celebrate as one.

Thank you to the organizers and, most importantly, to the patients who trust us to walk this path with them.
