The sad part is this isn't a horror story, it's the status quo. Health financing in our country needs to change, and soon.

Nena rises at 4 a.m. to cook a pack of instant noodles for her four children. Her live-in partner, Jojo, has gone to ply his tricycle route. He makes only about P300 a day and is still paying for the loan he took out (at 5-6 rates) to buy the tricycle.

A little bit more news for all of you: we just got word that our abstract has been accepted for presentation as a social enterprise at the 10th annual Global Health and Innovation Conference at Yale University in early 2013!
