Two Dreams Realized Down Under: Filipino Nursing Students Graduate from ECU, Australia
Two Filipino students have made history this month by successfully completing their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees at Edith Cowan University (ECU) in Perth, Australia. Their graduation marks another proud milestone in the innovative partnership between Arellano University and Edith Cowan University.
Patricia Rañola and Shayna Dayrit are the latest success stories of the 2+2 study pathway program that has been connecting Filipino nursing students with world-class Australian healthcare education since 2009. This collaboration allows students from Arellano University International Nursing Program (AU-INP) to complete their first two years of BSN studies in Legarda, Manila, before transferring to ECU in Perth to earn their BSN degree.
With their studies and comprehensive training, they are now eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and work as registered nurses within Australia's health care system.
For more than a decade, the AU-INP and ECU partnership has consistently delivered results. The 2+2 pathway has proven to be an effective model, allowing students to begin their studies in the Philippines while preparing for the international experience that awaits them in Australia.
