Muscadine Grapes (Vitis rotundifolia), which are native to the Southeastern United States, have been dubbed “The Smarter Grape” because it contains 20-pairs of chromosomes compared to other grapes that has only 19-pairs. This extra pair of chromosomes allow the Muscadine to thrive in a hot, humid, disease prone climate environment. It has also the ability to heal itself from disease, bacteria and fungi with the help of a tough, thick skin and its natural fighting antibacterial properties.
Muscadine also contain high amount of resveratrol, the polyphenol in red wine anti-inflammatory compounds and unique combination of over 100 different phenolic compounds simply not found anywhere else in nature.
