🎉 Congratulations to Quezon City, Philippines, recipient of the “Transforming Food Environments: Addressing Policy, Market and Urban Design Drivers of Health and Nutrition” award.

Quezon City uses public food procurement to make healthier diets more accessible across city-run settings, including hospitals, social welfare institutions and feeding programmes. Its Quezon City Nutrition Standards are backed by an executive order, green public procurement and dedicated funding, helping institutionalize healthy and sustainable food choices for diverse populations.

The 2026 WHO Healthy Cities Recognition Awards will be presented at the 11th Global Conference of the Alliance for Healthy Cities in Sydney, Australia, 1–3 September 2026.

Su***de affects people of all ages and backgrounds, but the latest data show that some groups face a greater burden than others.

In the Philippines, more than 80% of su***de deaths are among men, while around 42% occur among young people aged 15–29 years. Evidence suggests that social norms, stigma around help-seeking, and limited access to timely mental health care can make it harder for people to get the support they need.

Understanding who is most affected can help shape more targeted prevention efforts, from promoting life skills and emotional well-being among young people to strengthening community-based mental health services, early identification, and access to care.

If you or someone you know needs support, contact the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) Crisis Hotline at 1553 or 0919 057 1553.

Hindi lahat ng naririnig natin tungkol sa mental health ay totoo. 💭

Let’s break the myths and focus on the facts. Mental health conditions are real, treatable, at hindi dapat ikahiya.

Lahat deserve ng understanding at tamang suporta. 💙

Humanitarian workers dedicate themselves to helping others, often in challenging and high-pressure situations. But while they care for communities in crisis, it is equally important to care for those who serve.

United Nations Philippines invites humanitarians, development practitioners, civil society partners, humanitarian volunteers and the private sector to a webinar series organized by World Health Organization Philippines, United Nations OCHA Philippines, UN Women Philippines, and UNFPA Philippines.

Join us on 2 September 2026 as we recognize the vital role of workplace mental health and wellbeing in the humanitarian sector. Together, let us explore practical ways to build resilience, prevent burnout, and foster a culture of care for humanitarian workers across the Philippines.

Because caring for others starts with caring for ourselves.

We look forward to your participation in this important conversation. Please register through this link: https://forms.gle/6kVFRCpycYJzYdsx9 or through the QR Code.

Sa family planning, possible ang tamang spacing. 💜
